Johanna Angie Raybourn, 90, of Nashville, TN, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Clarendale at Indian Creek in Hendersonville, TN.

She was born September 7, 1933, in Mary’s Home, Missouri the daughter of Vincent Peter and Regina Sophia (Gerling) Sanning.

Johanna was a 1951 graduate of Jefferson City High School.

She was united in marriage on September 25, 1954, in Jefferson City to Bobby Lee Raybourn who preceded her in death on June 14, 1975.

Johanna reentered the workforce in 1974 as a medical assistant for several private doctors before joining Equifax as a medical technician. She retired in 1993.

She is a former member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Jefferson City and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Church and the American Legion Post 88 Auxiliary in Nashville, TN. During her years of service with the Auxiliary from 1976-2019 it is estimated she gave over 20k volunteer hours to serve our veterans. She served just about every position within the Unit Auxiliary as well as the district level.

Her greatest joy in life was serving the Lord, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and caring for our veterans.

Survivors include six children, Alan Raybourn (Kim), Nashville, TN; Bobby Raybourn, Jr., Smithville, TN; Michael (Regina) Raybourn, Nashville, TN; Sharon Reed, Greenbrier, TN; Vickie Tillman, Nashville, TN; Denise Amonette, Nashville, TN; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and four siblings, Dorothy Schanuth, Jefferson City; Catherine Sanning, Osage City; Jerome Sanning, Jefferson City; and Vincent (Sandra) Sanning, Jefferson City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Bernard and Norbert Sanning; and son-in-law, Larry Reed.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City with a rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. An additional visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Homes with the Rev. Matthew Flatley officiating.

Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
