Glenda Ada Distler, 75, of Jefferson City, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

She was born June 26, 1946, in Stuffeltown, South Carolina, the daughter of the late John Patrick and Agnes Irene (Boyd) Kaney.

She was a 1964 graduate of Langley Bath Clear Water High School in South Carolina.

She was united in marriage on February 13, 1965, in Gloverville, SC to Sylvester Vincent “Wes” Distler who survives at the home.

Glenda worked for over 30 years for Coke Cola retiring as an Administrative Assistant with the HR Department. She also worked for Medical College of Georgia and St. Joseph Hospital.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Georgia. Glenda had her mother live with her and Wes and was a faithful caregiver to her for over forty years. She enjoyed shopping, playing games on her tablet, and eating out with friends. Glenda loved everyone she met and always wanted to give hugs.

Survivors include her husband, Wes Distler, Jefferson City; several in-laws and other extended family members.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Annunciation Catholic Church in California with the Rev. Alex Gabriel officiating.

Memorials are suggested to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.

  4. I’m so sorry to hear about Glenda. She was a great soul and always loved everyone. She was my second cousin on the Mitchum side of the family and I cherished the times we would see her.
