Doris Yelton, 97 of Jefferson City passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at St. Joseph Bluffs.
She was born July 17, 1924 in Stearns, Kentucky to the late Marion and Sadie (Stephens) Swain. In 1996, Doris married Cecil Yelton in Jefferson City. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2006.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Jefferson City. In her younger years, Doris enjoyed golfing, playing the piano at various nursing homes, volunteering at St. Mary’s Hospital and flower gardening.
Survivors include one step son, Jeff Yelton of Warrensburg, MO, her granddaughter, Kristin (Kenneth) Morgan of Perrysburg, OH and three great grandchildren, Kenneth Morgan Jr., Kayden and Kolton Morgan. Doris was further preceded in death by two daughters, Sandi Bambico and Susan Shuart and four siblings, Cecil Swain, Dorman Swain, Delcie Hardwick and Ruth Gordon.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Dulle Trimble Funeral Home, 3210 N. Ten Mile Drive. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Hill officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
