Curt Lyle Sherman, 68, of Vichy, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Capital Region Medical Center after battling Interstitial Lung disease for 11 years.

He was born September 23, 1953, in Jefferson City, the son of William and Mareta (Tiede) Sherman.

Curt served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1970 till his honorable discharge in 1971.

He was married in 1988 to his lifelong love, Sandy Pringer in Las Vegas, NV. Out of this marriage they had one son, Jordan Lyle Sherman and one grandson, Lyle Eugene Sherman.

Curt was employed with Union Pacific Railroad and later in 1980 started working for the Sheet Metal Local #36. He worked sheet metal for 30 plus years before retiring.

Curt was a true cowboy who loved his horses on the farm. He trained and showed horses in Halter, Western Pleasure, and Cutting. He had a great eye for a good horse. He enjoyed showing horses, traveling across the States, and seeing his cowboy friends.

He was a member of the American Paint Horse Association, American Cutting Horse Association, and the American Quarter Horse Association.

Curt loved spending time with his family, especially his six-year-old grandson Lyle and son Jordan.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Sherman, Vichy, MO; son, Jordan Sherman, Vichy, MO; grandson, Lyle Sherman; his parents, William and Mareta Sherman, Vichy, MO; six siblings, Jim Sherman, Newburg, MO; David (Sheryl) Sherman, Florida; Perry (Cheryl) Sherman, Vichy, MO; Lisa Lewton, Salem, MO; Robin (Donnie) Stratman, Vienna, MO; Bill Ed (Edna) Sherman, St. James, MO; sister-in-law, Kathy Sherman, Vichy, MO; and several other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Sherman; maternal grandparents, George and Elisa Tiede; paternal grandparents, Joe and Irene Sherman; and an aunt, Esther Harris.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia.

Funeral service will be 12 noon Saturday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia with the Rev. Larry Sorrells officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Johnson Cemetery in Vichy.

Memorials are suggested to Lyle Sherman for his College Education (checks can be made out to Sandy Sherman).
