Barbara Ellen Hemeyer

Barbara was born in Washington, Missouri, on December 5th, 1956, the daughter of Elizabeth “Bettie” Held, and the late Donald H. Held.
Barbara was united in marriage to David M. Hemeyer on September 6th, 1975, in Pershing, Missouri.
After graduating from Gasconade County R-1 High School in Hermann, Missouri, in 1975, Barbara was employed for 35 years at Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance Company in Jefferson City, Missouri.
After her retirement, she enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
Barbara is survived by her husband, David, of the home; a daughter, Jennifer Hemeyer, of Jefferson City; and a son, Eric Hemeyer and wife Dala, of Jefferson City. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Alexander Hemeyer, Ella Hemeyer, William Hemeyer, and Lincoln Hemeyer, all of Jefferson City. She is also survived by her mother, Elizabeth “Bettie” Held, of Pershing, Missouri; two sisters, Cynthia Stafford, of Holts Summit, Missouri, and Carol Branson, of Owensville, Missouri; one brother, Andrew Held and wife Vicki, of Hermann, Missouri; and 6 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald H. Held, and her brother, Timothy Held.
A private, family Celebration of Life will be held later this spring.

I worked with Barb in the Word Processing Department at Missouri Farm Bureau for many years. She was a wonderful person, always friendly and unselfish. She suffered greatly from her arthritis, but she never complained. She will be missed. May she Rest In Peace now. Prayers to her family.
