Lylis Jean Marsch, 84, of Russellville, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Center.

She was born September 15, 1936, in Brazito, Missouri, the daughter of the late Halcy Clark and Ruby (Sanders) Amos.

She was united in marriage on November 27, 1954 at St. John’s Lutheran Church to Walter “Bud” Marsch, Jr. who preceded her in death on June 25, 1993.

Lylis was a loving homemaker and also worked for Montgomery Wards, JC Penny’s, and Olean Sale Barn.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and later a member of Concord Baptist Church. She loved being with her children and grandchildren. She loved cooking, caring for her house, and working in her yard.

Survivors include two sons, Doug (Rosemary) Marsch, Russellville; Mike (Suzi) Marsch, Jefferson City; five grandchildren, Ryan (Casey) Marsch, Travis (Meghan) Marsch, Madison (Jay) Harrington, McKenzi Marsch, Maci Jean Marsch; two great-grandchildren, Ty Marsch and Andy Marsch; and three siblings, Geraldine Runge, FL; DeWinda “Joyce” Bledsoe, Eldon; and Linda (Bill) Smittle, Jefferson City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Nina Etter.

Private family services will be held Friday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home. A recording of the service will be available to watch. The link can be found on Lylis’s obituary page under Tribute Wall at www.scrivnermorrowrussellville.com.

Burial will be in Johnston Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Johnston Cemetery.

  1. My family met this wonderful lady when I was but a child. We just had moved to the area and they came to visit and both she and Bud were steadfast friends from then on! She was honestly practically a second mother as she was MY mother’s best friend for the next 50 plus years! We will have her and the entire family in our prayers , and remember the years of friendships that continue to this day with other members of the family! Our deepest condolences and Love to the family!

  3. To all of Lylis family we extend our deepest sympathy at your time of loss. Memories are so vivid of this friend and her family in previous years. She and Bud were always very friendly and enjoyed life. It was fun for all to see the old ice house restored in her father’s memory and see how excited Lylis and Ray were to get it done.
