Clarence Frank Brenneke, 90, of Jefferson City; died Monday, August 31, 2020 at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born on January 11, 1930 in Meta, Missouri, the son of the late Joseph M. and Katherine J. (Lueckenhoff) Brenneke.

Clarence served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in the 23rd infantry.

He was married on May 15, 1954, in St. Anthony, Missouri to Henrietta Elizabeth Schaffer. She preceded him in death on
July 4, 2016.

Clarence worked for thirty-eight years as a heavy equipment operator for Leonard Barnhart Construction. After retirement he did maintenance work for Boggs Steel.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; the American Legion; and the VFW.

An avid listener of St. Louis Cardinals, Clarence enjoyed being outside cutting grass on his riding lawn mower, fishing, hunting, cutting wood, barbequing, and going to the farm.

Survivors include five children, Diana Brenneke, Taos; Dennis Brenneke, Jefferson City; Doug (Vicki) Brenneke, Holts Summit; Darrel Brenneke(Lawrence Orozco), Mission Hills, Kansas; and David (Cindy) Brenneke, New Bloomfield; nine grandchildren, Tony (Michelle) Derkum, Angie Derkum, Travis Brenneke (fiancé Ashley Muenks), Chase Brenneke, Jessica Brenneke (fiancé Brandon Rolquin), Dylan Brenneke, Maigen Quinn, Kylie Quinn, Lacey Quinn; six great-grandchildren, Will Derkum, Ashley Twehus, Jacob Twehus, Melina Derkum, Wyatt Twehus, Natalee Derkum; a great-great-grandson, Waylon Twehus; a sister, Marie Buschjost, Jefferson City; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Brenneke and Agnes Brenneke, both of Westphalia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Henrietta; a son, Donald Brenneke; three brothers, infant Herman Brenneke, John Brenneke, and Lawrence Brenneke; a sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Victor Wieberg; and a brother-in-law, Victor Buschjost.

Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald J. Antweiler officiating.

Burial will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.

The general public is welcome to attend services while following social distancing guidelines. Facial coverings are required while in attendance.

Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
