  1. My Dr.Huber story: a few years ago on Mother’s Day weekend my crown fell out of my mouth. I was at a piano recital and the Huber family was there. It was a Friday night and I would have had to wait all weekend without that tooth! Dr.Huber said come on over to my office and I’ll glue that back in for you. I knew him from St.Joe but never saw him as a orthodontist. He was so kind to me.❤️ #trueactofkindness

  2. What a light this man brought to so many people. I will never forget the first time I met Dr. Huber, he look at my face and could tell my ancestry by my face structure! Such a wonderful person and will be missed so much in our community. Prayers and ‘virtual’ hugs to all of his family and friends.

  3. The world has a hole that shall never be filled. We all have a hurt that will never resolve. Steve was a true giant among men, larger than life. Always with a smile and a quick wit, he never seemed to have a bad day. My heart aches for his family and their loss. I am forever grateful to have called you my friend. We will see each other again someday. Rest In Peace.

  4. You brought so many beautiful smiles in this world !!! Such a nice person, sad that you left us too soon. RIP

  5. He will be deeply missed! Honestly he was the best orthodontist in the world in my opinion! He was so caring about his clients and treated them as if they was his own family! My heart breaks for the family and coworkers! ❤

  6. There are too many special things Dr. Huber did for Jenn and I as an orthodontist to share. Over the years I feel like he became part of our family. He was always smiling and spent time getting to know his patients. Prayers to Jayne and his kids and all his staff. Jeff City has lost an amazing person!

  7. Dr. Huber was such a joy to be around and this town is full of his smiles to prove it. He always let you know how proud he was of you and always had a smile on his face. This world was a better place with him in it and his passing has left a huge hole in this communities hearts. RIP doc!

  8. His face says it all…a truly happy and kind man. RIP in Dr Huber. Many hearts are broken ߒ”. Sincere sympathy and prayers to his family.

  9. It’s been years since I’ve seen Dr Huber but he was the best! He had just opened his practice when I started going to him. So different than any doctor office I’d been to… Young, fun and a fabulous orthodontist. My sympathies to his wife and children…i can’t imagine what you’re going through. But he was loved and will be missed.

  10. What an incredible man – from the wonderful smiles he created for our family to the unselfish support of Boy Scout Troop 104 at St. Joesph Cathedral – he will be greatly missed! Prayers for his family and all that grieve his passing.

  11. My daughters Jamie and Kristen were orthodontic patients. Dr. Huber was absolutely the best professional and person one could hope to meet. He definitely took care of their orthodontics work very well. And in so doing his practice was always a very joyful and loving place. He, his wife, and staff were simply incredible. Our hearts go out to his family, staff and our entire community on our shared loss of him. May God wraps him arms around his wife, children, extended family, staff and friends during our incredible grief. May our lights and generosity shine as brightly as his did.

  12. I remember when I got my braces and thinking how much my teeth/smile has changed over the years. Dr. Huber was always so sweet to me. About a few years after I got my braces off he asked me “what do you wanna do when you grow up?” I said “I’d like to learn photography!” And he said ” my daughter does photography.” He said how beautiful of a young lady I have become over the years. I am gonna miss him so very much. To his family, I am so sorry. I’ll keep you guys in my thoughts.

  13. Thank you, Dr. Huber, for the beautiful smiles on my daughter’s faces. You will be greatly missed!!

  14. My condolences. My wife and I have been patients of his for years now. He was always good to us and our kids when we came in. It was truly an honor to know him and we will miss him dearly.

  15. We are so very sorry and shocked to hear of Dr. Huber’s passing. Our children Jason and JAYME both had braces put on by this wonderful man and his staff. He will me missed by so many. Know that I’m praying for you all during this difficult time. God be with you

  16. I’m so very sorry to hear about this. He was such a great man. He was the best in his practice. I will never forget him rushing into his office at 6pm on a Friday night when I was in an accident that displaced one of my teeth. He didn’t care about office hours or the day of the week. He was unselfish in everything he did.

  17. Our hearts are broken for you all…Prayers for peace and comfort. A special thank you for his unfailing support for Boy Scout troop 104. Prayers for the whole Huber family.

  18. Every part of me wanted this information to be untrue. Dr. Huber was so connected to his patients. He spent time knowing them. Years went by between my two daughters having braces then my son. He picked up right where we left off always remembering the kids and what they were involved in. I think about how much personal interest he showed in each one. We will miss him! Prayers for the broken hearts of his family, his staff and all who knew him.

  19. Dr. Huber was not only my 4 children’s dentist but a friend to our family. Prayers for his family and heartfelt condolences.

  20. Both of my girls are patients of Dr Huber. I first met met Dr Huber about 15 years ago when I took my oldest daughter in for a consult for her cleft palate. At the time at the time we were having a hard time finding anyone willing to work with her. I love how honest he was about everything and what to expect. I am always amazed by how great her teeth look because of him. My family will miss him dearly.

  21. I will miss the conversations we had when I was in the office. I have been your patient for 20+ years and trusted you with both my girls too. Gone but not forgotten!❤️

  22. My family is deeply saddened by this loss. Words cannot express our feelings for the family and those closest to him. Both of my kids were currently in his care. He was my orthodontist many years ago as well. He was able to straighten my teeth without braces; so forward thinking. All three of us owe our beautiful smiles to this man!! His office team was such a joy to visit; a fun, upbeat atmosphere. He was always interested in what purse I was carrying. He was “in the know” on the latest; it was so funny! He would also “brag” about his handy-work as we talked about my daughter’s alignment and beautiful face. The world is truly a sadder place without him….

  23. Dr Huber had 2 of my kids, Kirsten and Garrick probably 10 years apart . He was always caring , compassionate and a very great orthodontist. My granddaughter Isabella is now a patient of his. He definitely is and was a Hero to us and so many people. Hugs to all of his family! ߙϰߙϰߤװߤ—

  24. It was always clear that Dr Huber was not only a good doctor but an excellent man. He always made others feel valuable and important. He saw people and always had a smile to share! We are so saddened by this news, our thoughts and prayers are with Dr Huber’s family and staff.

  25. I am complimented on my smile often, Dr. Huber is responsible for it. When I brought my youngest son into him, he pulled my original charts and photos (from 1991), out of archives, and we all had a good chuckle. He was a fun and funny guy. Recently, I have gone through breast cancer. Dr. Huber and his staff have been so supportive and Dr. Huber himself, so generous. I will never forget his stories, charisma, and genuine kindness. My heart breaks for his family and staff. He will be terribly missed, by so many, but will live on, in smiles, all around us. Prayers for comfort.

  26. Dr. Huber was my orthodontist years ago . He was so nice and friendly and always put my mind at ease and made me smile. Such a great man who will be missed dearly.

  27. I have never met a man that was so Passionate about his work. He made the most beautiful smiles on so many people. What a beautiful soul he was. Definitely will be missed by so many. Rest in peace Dr. Huber.

  28. Dr. Huber was my husband Shawn and his brother Chad’s orthodontist. in fact I told Dr. Huber Shawn’s smile was the first thing I noticed about him and he owed Dr. Huber. Both of my kids went to him. In fact we just saw him for Grace’s appointment on March 5. His practice was a true family. He surprised us with a donation to the Versailles Wrestling Club. He was telling his how much he loved this time of his practice and 2nd generation patients. Prayers for his family, employees and patients. We love you Dr. Huber. Everything my family smiles I will think of you.

  29. Dr Huber was so caring for my family and I. Growing up, I often was with my grama due to my mother’s service. When I lived with grama, she didn’t have much extra money. We used government housing, food stamps, commodities, and other forms of social assistance to make it by. We were given enormous amounts of compassion from our community, our landlord, our school system, really everyone played a very instrumental band in helping us prosper. Dr Huber was one of those helping hands. One day we called to his office to see if he could remove my braces because we couldn’t afford to continue the care. He brought us in the office, talked with us directly and asked about us. He asked me what I wanted to do with my life, he asked me what my mother did for a living, he asked about my grandmother and how she found strength to push through when times are tough. He told us that he ran an ad in the local paper promising anyone whose parent was killed in action or wounded overseas, would receive free dental care from his company. Then, looking at my grandmother and I, he said he would provide my braces care for absolutely free. We had saved up a small amount between my check from McDonald’s and Grama’s money after bills were paid, and Dr Huber refused to take it, saying it would be an honor for him to help serve a “family that serves”. This caused my grandmother and I to weep, the idea that someone would act so graciously and selflessly, to those of us who are less fortunate was absolutely heart warming and truly the ideal of those who spend their lives in service to others. Dr Huber was a phenomenal man who displayed endless empathy, respect, tenderness, love, and compassion. That type of love is why I am who I am today. Thank You to his family, for sharing him with us for the moments he spent in practice. I cannot imagine the intense feeling of loss this brings to your home. I hope you know great peace through this time, and I hope you know that the compassion he gave to others has been paid forward tenfold.

  30. There are four beautiful Dr. Huber smiles in this photo (the four oldest). We spent fifteen years taking Kramer babies to his office! He was such a great, personable, generous, kind hearted man and even as of recent he never forgot our family if we bumped into him somewhere! I absolutely loved getting into deep conversations with him……I remember one particular conversation after he lost his mother and he said something like it’s an ache that won’t go away—I told him I don’t think that ache is ever supposed to completely heal and that you just have to make friends with it……..Now we will all have an ache from the loss of Dr. Huber….Rest peacefully my friend. Deepest Sympathy to his family. Your friends, Mary Kramer & family

  31. Thinking of his family and friends. Such a huge loss for the dental community. Sending prayers. ߙ Ann Chick and family

  32. We loved Dr. Huber! He was orthodontist for 2 of my children and 2 of my grandchildren. My heart is hurting for his family and employees. He was very friendly and personable.

  33. Dr Huber is my daughters orthodontist and was so good with her. He loved each of his patients and it showed every time you walked through the door. Our hearts are broken. Our thoughts and prayers to Dr Hubers family and staff.

  34. This saddens me beyond belief! What a wonderful, upbeat guy with a beautiful soul. He was a neighbor to us before he moved recently. I remember my very first visit to his office and how welcoming he was. He treated me initially and then both my daughters. He was a great conversationalist and did not know any strangers. You always felt important no matter who you were. We never minded going to appointments and very happy with the smiles Dr. Huber produced! My very deepest sympathy to his family and all the lives he touched during his career. Our community will be missing a very kind, talented, competent orthodontist and friend.

  35. Dr.Huber will always hold a special place in my heart and every time I see my “new smile” as he called it I will think of him and how he made this new smile possible with his kindness. Every time I had an appointment I would alway try to bring something for Doc and the staff to show my appreciation for them all. There are no words that can come close to how heavy my heart is. I send so many thoughts and prayers to his family his friends, his staff and his patients. With great love Kodie Gish

  36. So sorry to hear! He was my sons orthodontist. He was kind, gentle and very thorough in his profession. Prayers being sent.

  37. Condolences to all of the Huber Family. A special note of sympathy to you, Tom and Bill. Sincerely, Larry & Dana Henson Zimmerman (MOARNG Retired)

  38. He changed my smile and my life! He gave me a love for helping others and changing lives through dentistry. Prayers for his family and all hurting during this difficult time.

  39. Dr. Huber was my daughter, Amber Schroeder orthodontist! He was such a caring and passionate orthodontist! RIP Dr. Huber and fly with the angels!

  40. I felt like an uncle had passed away when I heard about Steve. We had been praying for him daily but understand that God’s will doesn’t always make sense at the moment. I knew Steve for years as a parent at SJCS, as the guy who straightened my kids’ teeth, but most importantly, as a friend. His passing will resonate for some time, and our prayers continue for him and his great family during this sad time in their lives.

  41. Diane and Bruce Weyenberg–Our family is just in tears over the loss of this wonderful man-He made so many people happy and helped so many youngsters be proud of their smile-he was my son and daughters dentist and did wonders–Surely, he is in a heavenly place and may he rest in peace–we are the ones now suffering. God bless…

  42. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. He was a remarkable human being. The light in our community now shines a bit dull but the heavens have received a shining star! Thank you Dr. Huber for your kindness and friendship you shared with all of us. I will never forget you. ߒ” Valerie Henderson

  43. Dr Huber has been like a member of our family for about 30 years. I always joked and said you were more like an Uncle to us than our orthodontist, though you were a phenomenal orthodontist as well. We are deeply saddened and our hearts go out to all of those who love him. To Jayne and the kids, we are deeply sorry for your hurt and loss.
To Dr Huber- We will miss you greatly. Thank you for the beautiful smile and being the only person able to help me to fix my broken jaw. Thank you for loving my kids, so many other kids in JC, and for being a light in our community. You will be greatly missed. Lexi sends her love. Go rest high on that mountain. Love and hugs- Lindsay Propst

  44. You will greatly missed… The man who fixed my smile 27 years ago… Who was fixing my children’s smiles. You friendly, kind, and caring personality will always be remembered… To Janye and the children: Our deepest sympathies… Prayers, and may God carry you through this valley. We care, Liz Stauffer

  45. Sympathies, thoughts and prayers to the Huber family during this difficult time. A tragedy and a huge loss for the community. May God’s grace and peace maintain you during this time. Rik, Jill & Ilse Combs, Cole County, Missouri

  48. My sincerest sympathies for your family. Dr Huber was my and my children’s orthodontist and he was the nicest and most caring guy. He will be greatly missed by the whole community.

  49. Our deepest sympathies to Dr Huber’s family and all his friends and staff. We became part of his orthodontics family 2 years ago and we were neighbors as well. May God Bless you all during this difficult time. We always enjoyed our trips to the office and talking with him and staff. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers. David & LeAnn, Katelyn Meyer.

  50. Dr. Steven Huber was one of the kindest and loving humans I know. A great friend and mentor to me. My big brother and I both went to Huber to get our teeth fixed. We were one of his very first clients; Huber was fresh out of college. Years later, I walk in for the first time with my own daughter, Hailey and then Sarah later on. At our first consult, he sits us down to tells us how my family was a HUGE influence on how he does business today. How his mother said to him he needed to get his head out of a text book (now that he was out of training) that he needed to learn how to work with each family on how much we could afford to pay, but handle each patient on a case by case basis. This type of stuff you can’t learn from a text book. After all, two siblings in braces was very expensive!! Huber told me when I first walked in the door, he took one look at Hailey and it was like looking at me all of those years ago. It brought back all of those memories of how my family was one of the biggest influences to him and why/how he handles his business today!!! We were in shock and awe as he went on and on about telling us this inspiring story. I could just feel the love for us oozing out of him as he was sharing this incredible and real story. Both mine and Hailey’s teeth issues were identical. He even had his office manager go down to archives to go pull my file and the first moldings on my teeth from when I was 13 years old. 13!! We were in shock that he still had these!!!! Bill and I see my first molding sitting there in front of us and he shows us the comparison of Hailey’s. My teeth mold and Hailey’s were identical. It was unbelievable!! He showed us so much love and respect… he said…I just love you guys so much. I responded by saying that I loved him too!! When Sarah is finished with her braces, we had planned on taking a picture of him, myself, and both of my girls. He loved that idea and said he wanted a copy for his desk to frame. We are a very special case to him. He treated us like family, he was a father figure to me. However, we never got to take that picture and Sarah’s teeth remain unfinished. Another time/appointment, we talked about my girls going on mission trips to Acuña, Mexico to build houses for families who didn’t have one. He said to me “I guess that’s all any of us can do is try and make the world a better place and when it’s my time to go, it’s my time to go.” He now has gained his angel wings. He was so supportive during our times of hardships and would check in with us any time he could. I loved going into his office because it was such a happy place and I got to see one of my favorite humans, Steven Huber. COVID-19 may have taken his earthly life but his eternal life is now with the Lord. I can honestly say that my life will never be the same without my friend, Steven Huber. ߘ¢ This may not make sense as I have tears streaming down my face as I’m typing this. But I think you’ll know what I mean. I love you Dr. Huber. We will see each other again one day. I have one of the biggest hearts. When I love someone, I love big! When my big heart gets broken, I hurt big. Sarah will get her braces finished some how, but it will never be the same without him. I have so much love and respect for this man. My heart and prayers go out to his family. Praying for you all.

  51. Thoughts, sympathies and prayers for the Huber family during this incredibly difficult time. May God hold you in his loving arms and comfort all of you. He was such an incredible man who touched so many lives. He will be greatly missed. The world is full of beautiful smiles because of him. Let those smiles always be a tribute to such an amazing man! Amanda Grellner

  52. Dr. Huber was a great friend and colleague. It is a wonderful tribute to him to read the many peoples lives he had such a positive influence on. Always up beat and smiling, he will be greatly missed. The Orthodontic profession has lost a wonderful person and leader. Steve Harrison DDS, MS

  53. The Huber’s have been family friends for more than 30 years! This is so sad ߘ and tragic! I was Dr. Steven Huber’s 1st orthodontic patient in 1986 when I was 14 years old. Infact, I think he still uses my mold and has our photo in his office. It’s ironic that he was responsible for my perfect smile, but today he’s also responsible for my frown. ☹️ I still remember him taking me to lunch before he put my braces ߘ¬ on and told me that I better enjoy the freedom of not getting food caught in my teeth. He had a good sense of humor and a kind soul. I love ❤️ you Huber family and am praying for you during this difficult time. ߙ P.S. This photo was taken of me after I got my braces off by Dr Huber in 1989.

  54. Such an Incredible person! He was always in good spirits and took such good care of my girls as patients. Thinking of you Mrs. Jayne, his family and his staff. You will be missed.

  55. He was my daughter’s and my orthodontist, his friendly smile, and compassionate personality made going to the orthodontist much more pleasant. So sad to hear of his passing. Sending heartfelt sympathy to his family. The world has lost a kind man, and a great orthodontist.

  56. My heart goes out to the family of Dr Huberߒٰߒ™. He was a great man and phenomenal orthodontist. Two of my boys have beautiful smiles because of him!! He will be missed!

  57. Dr. Huber, we will miss you, your conversation, your smile! You made us feel welcome, like family and friends, during our visits. I am thankful for you and the wonderful ladies in your office! I wish health and peace for your family and friends. ❤️

  58. Dr. Huber was a joy to be around. He truly cared about everyone and his loss leaves a hole in all of us he impacted with his kind heart. I am so sorry to his family and loved ones. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

  59. My family and I are sending our deepest condolences to Dr. Huber’s family, office staff, patients, and friends. It is a terrible loss and this man will be truly missed in our community. He always had a welcoming smile and a genuine heart. His patience was unwavering and he was very loving to anyone he met. What a wonderful orthodontist he was to our girls! Dr. Huber always treated my husband Rich and I with utmost respect and was kind to us all. May God’s richest blessings of love embrace his family and loved ones, they will be kept in my prayers. Rest In Paradise, Dr, Huber! It saddens me so for this to have happened to you. We planted a tree in your memory.

  60. He was such an amazing man and orthodontist. I had braces as an adult and enjoyed him and his wonderful team! He will truly be missed. Sending my thoughts and prayers to his family.

  61. There are not enough words to describe the brilliance, the light, and the joy this man brought to the JC community. He has been in my life since 1988, patient #870 I believe. Thanks for fixing my smile, not once but twice. All my love and hugs to Huber Orthodontics staff at this time and days ahead. My sympathies to his family. May God hold you and comfort you. With huge tears, I say…until we meet again

  62. Many thoughts and prayers to all of Steve’s family. We are so sorry for your loss and the loss of a classmate. Tina (Duppong) Johnson and Family

  63. My daughter Sara Hopkins and son Carson Shackleford both have Huber Smile! He was a really nice person and always great with his kids (patients)

  64. Our sincerest condolences to Dr. Huber’s family and friends. We had received orthodontic services from his practice during our years in Jefferson City. May he Rest In Peace. Sincerely, Keith and Lori Tornes and family

  65. My condolences to Jayne and the children at this difficult time. Our son is currently attending dental school at UMKC and my hope is that he follows in the footsteps of Dr. Steve, being a mentor and community leader loved by everyone.

  66. Our family is so sorry for your loss. Dr. Huber left a big foot print on this community. Both of my girls have perfect teeth because of his persistence in perfection. My youngest was fearful and he was so patient and kind with her. She let him do just about anything in her mouth because she trusted him completely. He will be greatly missed by many. I will continue to pray for his family, and his staff at the office.

  67. Dr. Huber was always a joy to be around!! Loved his sense of humor, generosity and care for his patients. I pray for the repose of his soul and my prayers go to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.

  68. Our deepest condolences to Dr. Hueber’s family. We have known Dr. Hueber since 2005 . He made my teeth perfect and put a smile for me and did that for our son too. Dr. Hueber, Jayne and the kids are very close to us and are our good family friends. Dr. Hueber was a kind and great human. He did a great service and treated anybody who entered his office as his own family. It came as a big hit for us to hear about Dr. Hueber. Dr. Hueber has always been and would have a very special place in our hearts.

  69. Dr. Huber took my young son,Devin, under his wing when we lived in the same apartment building. Later becoming Devin’s orthodontist. Then when Devin passed, Dr. Huber, his mom, and staff propped me up with a letter and photograph. I got the letter and photo out last night. Thank you for that, Dr. Huber, his mother and staff (April 10, 1988). And later Dr. Huber became my daughter’s and grandsons’ orthodontist I think of all the perfect smiles walking around because of Dr. Huber. My family is better for having known him. My deepest condolences to his wife, children, and the rest of his family. And thank you. Kinda (Hughes) Gentry

  70. I’m so very sorry and I hate that this has happened to his wife, family and friends. I just can’t believe it. My deepest condolences and prayers to everyone who was close to him.

  71. My family and I are deeply sorry to hear about Dr. Huber’s passing. My son, Alex loved him! He always took time to chat with him when we were in his office. Everytime my son smiles, I’ll think of Dr. Huber. I’m praying for all his family, friends, and staff. Erin, Patrick, and Alex Sutton

  72. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. I never had the pleasure of meeting him personally, but I worked with his brother at Ft. Leonard Wood until life brought us to Jefferson City where I always heard people speak highly of him. His loss will surely be felt throughout the community.

  73. Dr Huber was always so kind and gracious when our family would come in. My son had been a patient of his for almost 5 years and always been treated with care. I’ll never forget when I had our youngest and brought her in for the first time. He told me how sweet and beautiful she was, and that I couldn’t come in anymore unless I brought her with us. Dr Huber would comment many times on how precious family was and how fast time flies. Always telling me to enjoy these times. Words I’ll hold close forever! Our deepest sympathy is with you all, his sweet family, that meant everything to him. May his love for you live on and heal your hearts. We will carry you in our hearts for years to come. Love, The Steenbergen Family Susan, Collin, Noah, Gabriel, Jorah and Kira

  74. I am so very sorry for your loss. my condolences. He will be greatly missed. great personality and awesome man. He put my braces on years ago and then put my daughters on. when I took her for a consultation he wanted to look in my mouth to see how I was doing years later. to make long story short he put my bottom braces back on with no charge. Lifting his family and his staff up in prayer…..

  75. Dr. Huber was an incredible, gentle, and compassionate person. He was my orthodontist when I was in high school back in the early 2000’s. He fixed up a botched braces job on my teeth done by a previous orthodontist. I had a lot of fear about the dentist/orthodontist, but he made me feel so warm and comfortable. He will be sorely missed in the community.

  76. My two children were patients of Dr. Huber. He was such a loving personable doctor and my kids actually enjoyed their appointments. He always took the time to talk and listen to his patients and patients’ parents. It was evident how he thrived in the human interaction as much as his field. We are grateful that he was our doctor ߒ•RIP

  77. Our thoughts and prayers to the family of Dr. Huber. He was our family Orthodontist for many years and we shared many stories of traveling to beautiful places. He was always caring, compassionate and took the time to get to know his patients. A true loss to the community but we know he is soaring high in Heaven.

  78. Dr Huber was such a great man. My son was one of his patients. Always took that extra minute to learn what he was doing in school or extra curricular activities he was involved in. Way after his ortho was complete, if Dr Huber saw any of our family out, he would go out of his way to say hello and acknowledge our sons. As a dental hygienist, I had the utmost respect for him as an orthodontist, but more importantly as a great human being. Fly high Dr Huber. God bless your family and your dental family.

  79. So sorry to hear about dr. Huber. He took care of our son with his braces. Very much appreciated all he did as well as being a friend to the Reed family.

  80. Jayne keeping you & your family in our thoughts & prayers! (The Late Louie) Debbie (Stegeman) Branson Bryce, Tyler & Kallie

  81. Two of my daughters went to Dr. Huber. I checked out 3 orthodontists before choosing him and know he was the best choice for us–he was great! So friendly and upbeat! Now I’ve got grandchildren that see him–he will be very missed. Thoughts of and prayers for his family, friends, co-workers and many, many patients.

  82. We will greatly miss our dear friend Dr.Huber. I met him after I broke my retainer and many people recommended him. We lived in Eldon at the time and I was pregnant with Ava. We got to know each other on that first office visit and he confided in me that Max and Sydney were also on the way! He was over the moon at one of my appointments when he got to tell me all about the babies, and blue and pink balloons decorated the office! Years later we moved to JC and our three kids ended up at St. Joseph Cathedral School together! All three of my girls have beautiful smiles because of Dr Huber and Grace said it well when she said, if you’re ever feeling bad about yourself just go see Dr Huber…he’ll make you feel like a rock star! I will greatly miss those appointments, talking about Jeeps and the kid’s teachers and how our families were doing. Dr Huber made us feel like we were the favorites, but here’s the thing….he made every single person feel that way. I remember watching him in amazement as he had to do some dental work on a girl with special needs. He used his charm and good humor and patience and finally got the job done. Then he celebrated with her! He said I knew you could do it!! He was one of the best people I have ever met and treated every single person with the highest respect. Oh how we will miss him!! Jayne, I wish more than anything to come give you a huge hug. Love to you my friend and to your beautiful family. Lynne Millard & family

  83. We are so sad to hear about Dr. Huber. He was my older daughters orthodontist and wonderful person. She is 40 years old now. I didn’t realize he is one day older than me. He was very youthful and kind. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the JC community. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. RIP Dear God be with us all. May we find a universal flu shot or something soon! Tears to heaven for you Dr. Huber.

  84. Deepest condolences to Dr. Huber’s family, friends and the staff at Huber Orthodontics. He was a caring person who was loved and will be missed by many.

  85. Dr. Huber was my orthodontist when I was younger, such an amazing man, the love and care he had for every patient could be seen in his infectious smile. My niece is still a patient there and he will be extremely missed. Prayers go to his wife, kids, family and friends. Fly high Dr. Huber!! We will miss u. Kayla Streeter and Savanah Feltrop

  86. So sorry for your loss ! Prayers to his wife and children and family. May God give you strength and comfort though this very difficult time.

  87. Both of my sons had Dr. Huber as their orthodontist 15-20 years ago. He was a kind man, always happy and smiling. He had a wonderful group of ladies/assistants working for him and that reflected on him and his business as having a great reputation. My kids loved the icecream the business provided the clients after their adjustments on their braces. Rip Dr. Huber and God bless your family.

  88. Dr. Huber was mine and 2 of my daughters orthodontist. Our sincere consolences to his family, friends and staff. He will be certainly be missed.

  89. I am a believer that people are placed in your life for a reason. Dr. Huber was more than our doctor, but our dear friend. He always inspired and encouraged Lexi and I to be our best, always see the bigger perspective, and to always do things right no matter how much more effort it meant. The dividends would always come back two fold. He always encouraged me to live life and always set an example of excellence for my kids. What started as a trip to the orthodontist for Lexi ended with two great smiles, many laughs, and some of the most thought provoking conversations that always left me waiting for the next appointment. My heart is broken to lose such a wonderful man who loved his patients as his own. I will sure miss my friend. Until we meet again.

  90. I consider To have been blessed by Steve’s friendship, mentorship and bond over many years. Steve and I shared many good times together. He will be missed This is one of my favorite photos of Steve and I on top of Ajax Mtn in Aspen. Dr Huber was a long time Ormco Insider and we often roomed together at those meetings. He will be missed by the orthodontic community and all who he touched. I will miss him dearly ߙϰߙ

  91. Dr. Huber was my daughter’s orthodontist. He was a kind man, who spoke lovingly about his family every time we saw him. He had an amazing ability to relate to everyone. I am forever grateful for Dr. Huber and the exceptional care he provided my daughter. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

  92. Dr Huber was the best orthodontist I had when I go to see him he doesn’t wear any sock he is the best.

  93. Being a patient at Dr. Huber’s office growing up as a child is a valuable memory in and of itself. He was truly invested in each of his patients, sought to give patients the best smiles around, and engaged personally and professionally with every patient he encountered. Thank you for being such an unforgettable asset to the Jeff City community; you will always hold a special place in my heart. ❤️

  94. Dr. Hunter was not just my kids and I orthodontic, he was and great friend, big brother and an inspirational person to my kids and I. You are very much missed and love from the Conger family

  95. Jayne and family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I am So Very Sorry for your loss. May you feel God’s presence with you during this time. Kathy Speidel

  96. Dr. Huber did my daughters braces about 24 yrs ago, I will never forget how scared she was, and both he and his team made her feel so at ease. I have always passed the word of what a great orthodontist he was. He was awesome at his gift. Prayers for his family are definitely going up. Thank you Dr. Huber. RIP.

  97. We are so sad to hear this. Our heartfelt Sympathy to Jane and the children. Chuck and Sherry Kempton

  98. Your kind heart, fun-loving personality and caring soul will always be remembered. Thank you, Dr. Huber, for always making Ben feel safe. You were one of a kind and we are so thankful to have gotten to know you. May God bless your family and friends during this difficult time.

  99. Dr, Huber was one of the most amazing people I have ever met. He is not only the orthodontist for our 3 children, he actually forms a bond with them. Both times one of my kids had surgery, he remembered and gave them gifts and made them feel so special. He will be sadly missed in this world.

  100. Dr. Huber did my braces as an adult. He not only was an excellent orthodontist, but had a very calming effect on his patients. He will missed by many in the community. His smile will always be remembered. Our sympathy and prayers go out to Jayne and children, all his family, and his extended work family. Theresa and Roger Backes

  101. I was one of his first patients years ago. My Aunt went to school with Dr Huber. Great guy and so kind. The community has a huge loss. Prayers and sympathies to the family.

  102. My family has been going to Dr. Huber for 10 years.. We always talked about travel adventures and the next place to go check out. Fly high Dr. Huber. Our family will miss you!

  103. Jayne, my deepest of sympathy to you. Thinking of you and your children and keeping each of you in my prayers for comfort and healing. Jennifer (Hebel)

  104. Our thoughts and prayers are with all his family, staff, and patients, of which include my husband and myself. He will be greatly missed

  105. Dr. Huber was such a nice Orthodontist and a great part of Jefferson City. Both of our daughters have gone through life with beautiful straight teeth smiles because of Dr. Huber. RIP You will be missed. Marianne Thies

  106. Jayne, you don’t know me. My name is Annie. I am the nurse that admitted him the day he came in. We talked a lot. I prayed with him, I visited on every lunch break from that day on. He said he was gonna come find me when this was all over. So, I feel I need to find you. Maybe one day we will meet. I have not stopped praying for him and will keep praying for you. Steve, God has you now. You are free, safe and loved. I am honored to have met you, cared for you, and to have been able to pray with you.

  107. Jayne my heart is breaking for you and the kids. Please know we have all been keeping you in our hearts and prayers. Much love to you. Linda Miller Bolten

  108. My whole family had gone through Dr. Huber for straighter teeth. The Akin Family sends our prayers and love to you and your family Dr. Huber, and yes this is Jake, not my twin brother Phil, the office could never get it right without the chart in front of them.

  109. I had the pleasure of getting to know Dr Huber through several facets…Including getting braces from him, my kids getting braces from him, and coaching his kids in cross country. He used to say, there was a “Starr Factor” in cross country. I’m not exactly sure what he meant but knowing him, it was of the highest compliment. He always took interest in our family, interests, and travels. He will be truly missed by our family. God Speed, Dr. Huber! We love you, Jayne and family.

  110. So sad to hear of Dr Huber passing!! Prayers for him & his family during this very difficult time!! Jayne, you have my condolences ߙϰߏ۰ߙϰߏ»

  111. Deepest sympathies to his family. My 3 children have beautiful smiles thanks to him. My son’s nickname in the Marines was Smiley. He had a million dollar smile!

  112. My heart breaks for the loss of this dear , sweet, kind man. My son Michael and I both had our braces done by him many years ago. He was one if the kindest person I have ever known. Please give his wife and kids and family peace knowing he is indeed in heaven and they will see him again someday. The medical community and the whole world has lost a wonderful person. RIP Dr Huber.

  113. All 3 of my kids went to Dr. Huber and they all have the most beautiful smiles. He was always so kind and took time to visit and really connect. It was an appointment that my late husband enjoyed taking the kids to, he really enjoyed their talks. When Dr. Starnes passed and then my husband Mark, Dr. Huber was so kind and thoughtful. I know right now seems so dark, but you are strong enough and you will have better days. And although family and friends cant be around you, know that so many are praying for you, your family, and Steve. He was a good man who did so many great things for others. Brenda Voss

  114. Words are inadequate to describe what a wonderful person Dr. Huber was and the feelings of loss we are experiencing. When my husband was going through cancer, I ran into Steve and Jayne in the grocery store and they asked how we were doing. I started crying and Steve grabbed the list out of my hand and said you shouldn’t have to be dealing with this now. He wouldn’t give it back and I’m pretty stubborn. He and Jayne told me to go home. They finished shopping and delivered the groceries to our house. I will never forget that expression of kindness. Believe me when I say this story is just the tip of the iceberg ,for the caring person that he is. Jayne and family, I’m sending hugs until I can give you one in person. With deepest sympathy and love, Rita Starnes

  115. Dr. Huber was my orthodontist first, twenty-five years ago, and he did a great job for me. My father also helped build his new office years ago, which he was very proud of as I remember. Years later, I got to reconnect with Steve when I would visit the building site while my father worked on the dream home he and his family had always wanted. We only saw one another a few times, but I heard of the build constantly from my father, and when I did see Steve, I would tease him that my dad seemed to be working more on his house than he did for my own (his home was a fair deal nicer). Steve and I had spoken several times before dad began construction for him, as my own house was holding up the start date for Steve near the end of 2016. He was always gracious and measured in his approach to getting a quality result, in business and in life. He would call to check in now and then to see how my own home was progressing and to ask when I thought my dad would be clear to start his build. I know the last few years were a great excitement to him, watching his absolutely gorgeous home design come into existence bit by bit. My father worked on his home build for over two years in the end, and I know he considered Steve a good friend and not just a client. Steve always treated my family well, and he will be missed by all of the Schrimpf’s. I am so saddened for the loss to his family. He has been, and will continue to be, in our family’s prayers.

  116. Dr. Huber was my orthodontist for five years. He always reminded me of one of my uncles. He was one of the friendliest doctors I’ve had, and put me at ease throughout the period I went through braces. Rest in peace, Dr. Huber.

  117. Prayers for Dr Huber’s family and his work family. Our son had dental work done there a few years ago. The staff was very nice, courteous, and always put him at ease. No matter how busy Dr Huber was, he always went out of his way to ask our son what he had been up to. RIP. ………Bookout Family

  118. On a friday evening at 6pm my son ran open mouthed into a dumpster and knocked out a tooth. I called Dr Huber and he replaced the tooth and put braces on him that evening. We were so lucky to have him for the orthodontic care of 3 or our 4 children (the forth never needed any or she would also have seen him). Many prayers are being said and I blue spruce will be planted.

  119. Dr. Huber was a phenomenal man. He treated both my Daughter and my Son. He took always had time for questions and always had a big smile and a fist bump! My kids loved him and I trusted him. The lives he has touched are too many to count. I am so very thankful for having him in our lives. Praying for his wife and family left behind. Sincerely Lea Marriott Simmons ( Andi and Austin Edgar’s grateful Momma)

  120. The most loving and caring person. I’m so glad I had the chance of knowing you and forever grateful for being the best ortho. You will be missed

  121. This man right here was the best orthodontics in the world. He really took care of my children teeth. Wow my heart ache for his family and the Jefferson City community.

  122. It is with extremely heavy hearts that we are sending our deepest of sympathies to Steve’s beloved family. Steve has been such a huge presence & additional father figure to our daughter, Whitney, and we know how much she and her brother & sister adored him. We are very thankful to Steve for being there for Whitney over the past 20+ years. May God’s love & all the great memories provide peace and comfort in the days and years to come. With Love & Continuing Support, Duke & Cara Wright

  123. I remember Steve from when we were kids. I’m the age of Bill and Tom and we all played in Memorial Park. Had fond memories of Mrs. and Mr. Huber also. Hank Fullmer

  124. I’m shocked. Steve was a kind man who loved God and his Church. I pray for his family at this difficult time. May God accept his soul

  125. What a shock . Have many great memories of my fraternity brother. I had not seen him in many years. He was a wonderful friend and will be missed. He is the first person I can actually say I knew that passed from this virus. Rest In Peace. YITB. Randy Higbee in Lees Summit Mo.

  126. The first time I met Dr Steven was at the small px at ISTS. He was looking at uniforms and being the store manager I offered to help him. He said he didnt need help. When he got to the register and wrote his check I was perplexed when I looked at the check, he had this little smirk and said “I’ll bet you thought I was Thomas” From that point on we’d chuckle at each other when he came in the store. RIP SIR and prayers of peace and comfort to your family Pearl Adduci

  127. Dr. Huber was my orthodontist from the ages of 8-16 and I remember clearly he always made me feel like I was his favorite patient. He was sincere and so likable and made you feel special. I’m 40 years old now and saw Dr. Huber at Sams before Christmas for the first time in 25 years. All those good feelings came back of being a kid and getting to go see Dr. Huber for my appointments. People like Dr. Huber leave such an impression on you. It was one that has stayed with me over the years. I’m deeply saddened by his passing and I pray for deep comfort for his family.

  128. My condolences to Jayne, the children and the entire family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. During this difficult time. Charlotte Amick Dewrock

  129. Sending my deepest sympathies to the Huber family in the passing of Steve. May God bless each of you. May you receive comfort and strength from family and friends. May you know just how much I love you! “The Lord bless and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face towards you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26

  130. Dr Huber was both of my daughter’s orthidontist. What a wonderful man. So friendly and personable with all his patients. Sympathy and prayers to his family and staff. Lana Kirchner

  131. Your patience will always remember the nice sweet smile you had For them we send our condolences to your family and our prayers are with you and your family

  132. He was a great orthodontist. My daughter went to him and he treated each person there like a friend. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.

  133. Sending prayers and thoughts for The Huber family and staff. I have been a patient over 15 years of Dr. Huber. I have never met a more kind and caring person. He went beyond, what he had to do for me. When I first met him, he referred me to Columbia to have jaw surgery. He continued checking on me after my surgery. After surgery was healed I was back in braces. Even after braces I saw him yearly. He deeply cared for every person that he seen in his office. I will never forget my most recently visit. He had to make sure I wasn’t going on any trips durning this virus. He knew how much I loved to travel but, more about my safety. I will miss our talks on family, travel and life! Dr. Huber will forever be missed by my family and our community. Kathy Gilbert

  134. My deepest condolences to the family and staff of Dr Huber. He was such a kind man who truly cared about his patients. My heart goes out to you all. Rob and Rebecca Veth

  135. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends! Dr. Huber was a Phenomenal man and amazing Orthodontist he will be deeply missed!! ߒ”

  136. Dr. Huber was one of the kindest people I know. He truly loved what he did, and people loved him back. He put braces on two of my children’s teeth and was honest enough to tell us when the 3rd child didn’t need braces. We will miss him.

  137. Our children saw Dr. Huber and now we have had grandchildren that were his patients. He was wonderful with all of them and made them all feel special. Such a nice man. He will be truly missed by so many. Prayers for him and all his family left to mourn his loss.

  138. So sorry and shocked to hear about Dr. Huber. He was a very nice man and he gave my oldest a beautiful smile. His family are in my thoughts and prayers.

  139. Nice, nice man. Knew he really enjoyed talking to most parents not just about their kids braces but life, his family, and other subjects. His staff would have to interrupt him to get him back on track with appts, he was entertaining. Hadn’t seen him for few years, will remember how great he was with our 3 kids and whenever I needed few minutes of his time. Always had a smile, joyful laugh and a joke so bad you had to laugh. Sympathies to his family and close friends, he made great impressions even on those of us who weren’t. Scott Andrews

  140. Dr. Huber was not only my son and now grandson’s orthodontist, he was my friend. Such a tremendous loss for so many. RIP, my friend. I hope you knew just how special you were. My heart aches….

  141. Dr Huber was my son’s orthodontist. He was such a wonderful guy! We really loved him! We are so saddened to hear this news today. He made going to the orthodontist never a bad experience for my son. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Huber family.

  142. Dr Huber did braces for my oldest son. He was a fine orthodontist and a fine man. Rest In Peace Dr Huber. My deepest sympathy to his family. Bev Figg

  143. Dr. Huber and his staff were wonderful to me and my son. Prayers are with his family and especially Tom Huber as we went to law school together

  144. Steve took such great care of my daughter Leslie and son Bret. Bret is an airborne ranger and served as chemical recon commander for 5th special forces. The ONLY time this candle is lit is when he is deployed. I know he would want it lit for Steve as I do. I know he heard the words “ well done good and faithful servant, now enter into the kingdom I have prepared for you”. Rest In Peace Steve. Prayers to the family.

  145. Thank you to Dr Huber for the excellent care provided our daughter. Our prayers are with the family

  146. So sad to hear about Dr Huber’s passing. I was once a patient. He did such a wonderful job on smile that people don’t even notice I’m missing a tooth in the front. He took such good care of us all, always so kind. He will be missed.

  147. Both of my girls had braces which resulted in beautiful teeth, of course! Dr. Huber was such a blessing … his entire staff is so wonderful. A few years ago I was in pain as a result of TMJ … no one helped me, I dropped weight and experienced depression as a result. Dr. Huber literally saved my life. So sad his was cut short. My prayers go out to his family, staff, and all who love him.

  148. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this very difficult time. I had the privilege of enjoying scouting with Steve, Bill and Tom. I remember all wearing camo and painting our faces black and bombarding other troops campsites with apples at Hahn summer camp. Despite our conduct we had a class of 9 that obtained Eagle Scout together. May God rest Steve soul. Tom & Amy Flick

  149. Dr. Huber was such a warm, caring, special person. We’ve known him for 13 years – he did the braces for me and my sister. I always felt like he genuinely cared about each of his patients; remembering each one even after many years had passed since seeing them! I’ll never forget the conversations we shared; the words of fatherly wisdom he always had for me. Rest in peace, Dr. Huber. You will be missed. Our prayers go to his family!

  150. I am greatly saddened by Dr. Huber’s passing. He treated me and my son. I was a single mom when my son needed braces. I didn’t think I was going to be able to afford braces for my son. Dr. Huber made it possible. I will always be grateful. My deepest sympathy for the family.

  151. He was an incredible doctor and human. Kind, bright, compassionate, intelligent. Our boys were patients of his. What a great guy. He cared about kids and always connected with them and us parents. I am so sorry.

  152. This makes it much more real. We’ve lost a good man way too soon. Dr. Huber certainly never treated me like a regular patient. He even let me job shadow him several times in high school. I went off to Mizzou thinking I’d become an orthodontist and started out in biology all because of him. Seven years later the retainer on my lower front teeth broke. I called Dr. Huber and he made sure I had an appointment that same afternoon, even though the clinic was fully booked and we hadn’t spoken since I last job shadowed him in high school. When I arrived, he saw that the retainer was fixed immediately and he spent an hour visiting with me and talking about life – even though the place was packed, as always. This is just one example of the type of man he was and how deeply he cared for his patients. He will be dearly missed.

  153. Dr. Huber did the braces for two of my children, and did a fine job. I always seemed to be the parent who took the kids, and Stephen and I struck up quite a friendship. I always joked that the other patients, parents, and staff must hate me because he’d sit there and talk politics, hunting, etc. for 15 minutes after the appointment. Meanwhile, patients needing inspections were lining up to see him so they could be on their way. This was a great man and I’ll truly miss him!

  154. Dr. Huber did the braces for 2 of my girls. It was a long time ago but I still have vivid memories of how nice he was and that same disposition was shared by everyone who worked for him. God bless him and the entire Huber family who are dealing with the loss.

  155. Steve is already missed by so very many. The work he did on my son’s teeth was great. I always enjoyed the conversations we’d have when I’d bring him in, and appreciated his honest, up-front approach. He was very knowledgeable and gentle, genuinely caring for everyone that came in to see him. This is truly a sad day and many feel this loss.

  156. Dr. Huber was so compassionate and helpful. He examined me free of charge and gave me advice. Wonderful human being. My daughter has her braces on still and he was amazing with her. Walking into the office was a very relaxing setting and he made it that much better. He will be missed by so many. Prayers to his family and staff.

  157. Many, many prayers for Dr Huber and his family he left behind. I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I was a patient of his back in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Getting braces was a very memorable experience and Dr Huber made it very pleasant. He was always so kind and gentle. My heart hurts for his family. May the Peace of God be with them during this very difficult time.

  158. I moved her about 10 years ago as really an outsider. I worked professionally with Steve and collaborated on mutual patients. He was ALWAYS quick to call me and share with me good things patients had said and how he was glad to work with me and that he was glad I had moved to Jeff City. He loved and cared for people, especially his patients. I’m going to miss our short conversations of “shop talk”, but I will really miss our long conversations about family and life. A good man gone too soon! Steve, we love you brother, thanks for all the goodness you brought to the world.

  159. So sorry to hear that! He was a super nice doctor and knew how to connect with all his patients. We will miss him so much!!

  160. Prayers for his family, friends and staff in this difficult time. He will be greatly missed by his patients

  161. So sorry to hear this. I was a patient if Dr. Huber’s as a young man. I thought he was the coolest guy in the world as a kid. He drove a Porsche and always had awesome car magazines in his office and there wasn’t a lot of things cooler than that when I was 12. Condolences to his family I’m sure he will be missed.

  162. I was a patient of Dr. Huber’s in the late 80’s and early 90’s. He would travel to Dr. Dear’s office in Versailles where I would see him. He was always kind and considerate. I ran into Dr. Huber years later and he remembered me. My smile is beautiful and I am thankful to have been a patient of his.

  163. Dr. Huber was my orthodontist over twenty years ago. He was a very kind and knowledgeable doctor. My daughter started seeing him last year. He made her feel comfortable and calmed her fears. He showed my daughter pictures of me with my braces. He was the best. He will be greatly missed.

  164. So very sorry to hear about Dr. Huber and prayer go out to his family. He was a very kind and caring person. He was our orthodontist for 2 of our sons. Praying for his family during this very hard time.

  165. So very sad to hear about the passing of Dr. Steven Huber. From the beginning of Audrey’s visits til the last of Rebecca’s, and with Alex’s in between, we were so blessed to have gotten to know him. Over the course of 18 years, we had many a conversation about a variety of topics. He was so much more than “just an orthodontist.” He got to know his patients and their families and truly cared about them. Not even once did he say an unkind word to any of us and I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who smiles more than he did. He was just such a wise, wonderful, fun, loving, caring, & giving person. I’ll never forget the free BBQ & snow cone picnics he and his staff used to host for the patients & their families, and the patients even got to bring a friend! Dr. Huber gave to the community in many other ways as well. Even before I met him, during the time I was teaching at St. Peter School (9 years, but this had started before I got there), every year Dr. Huber gave all the special kids who attended Vogelweid Learning Center something for Christmas! A few things I remember were t-shirts that they got to pick out their own decal to have ironed on, brand name sports balls, and a large Christmas tree for the classroom with all the lights and decorations!! Dr. Huber, I know you are in a better place now, but here on earth, you will be greatly missed! Our prayers and condolences go out to your family.

  166. I was a patient of Dr. Huber for many years. He was such a friendly and awesome person. We talked about our families, that he loved dearly. It’s hard to lose love one and I pray to God that his family will find some peace and comfort in their lost. Dr.Huber, we know you will carry on in God’s heaven as his angel of compassion.

  167. I was privileged to teach his children. He and his wife were very involved parents. When he spoke about his children I could just see his love and pride about them! He will be missed. Prayers for his family.

  168. What an awesome man! We cannot say enough how highly we thought of Steve. My father and him had a special bond and would talk about the lord among other things for days. When our son needed an orthodontist Steve let the love he felt for my father spill over and even a 13 year old knew he was loved by this man. Dodi, my mother is heartbroken at hearing the news. She remembers him, the twins and his wife with fond memories. Our hearts go out to his wife, his children and siblings that he held so dear. Do not think we did not appreciate all the prayers and gestures toward our family. We will keep them in our thoughts and prayers forever, just as the twins would pray for John when they were wee little ones.
Thank you for allowing us to know this incredible man.
Jim, Robyn, Roman Trowbridge and Dodi (and John) Cionko

  169. My prayers and condolences go out to the Huber family. Dr. Huber was my orthodontist when I was in high school. What I will remember most about him is his kindness to me. I ran into him occasionally at church when I was back in town and he always remembered me. One thing that I will always be grateful to him for was seeing me on an off day he had. My two eye teeth hadn’t come down property (periodontist was unsuccessful in fixing it) he took the time and resources to do what needed to be done to get the eye teeth to come down properly. He was successful. He always had a smile on his face and such a kind heart. I will miss seeing him.

  170. This is so sad. He was a kind and good man. He has been my daughter’s orthodontist from kindergarten to 6th grade. Praying for his family. You will be missed.

  171. It breaks my heart hearing this news. Dr Huber was my orthodontist for several years and he always made you feel like family. We would drive 2 hours for our orthodontist appointments after we moved because we refused to go to anyone else…he was the best! He cared so much about every single one of his patients and took the time to build relationships with everyone that walked through those office doors. We need more people like him in this world! He will definitely be missed. Much love to his family.

  173. Donna and I were so shocked and saddened by the unexpected news of Steve’s passing. Jayne, our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. We saw Steve down on the dock a few weeks ago checking out the boat and getting ready for Spring. It caused us to remember all the fun times your family had on the dock and swimming in the lake. He was a caring man and will be missed by all who knew him. God Bless

  174. A surreal moment and sad feeling to know that Dr. Huber passed. I’m grateful for the care I received as one of Dr Huber’s patients and I will be forever thankful for the *literal* smile he helped create for me. I’m sure hundreds more can say the same. May God bless Dr. Huber’s family with comfort as they mourn his passing. He is so deeply missed.

  175. Remembering a kind and caring doctor. May the family find comfort knowing so many family and friends are praying for them. Dr. Huber took care of my children’s orthodontic needs and we appreciated his expertise.

  176. Dr Huber took me under his wing a few years ago, with sincere thanks to Dr. Williams (VA). I am perplexed a little bit after reading the news about his departure. He was definitely a sincere and caring orthodontist. I will be forever grateful for what he’s done for me. I’m at the tail end of getting my braces off and I was hoping to celebrate with him and his amazing team. RIP Dr. Huber

Sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers to his family, friends and team.

  177. He was my orthodontist and he was a wonderful doctor who made being a preteen/teenager with braces a great experience. He was always kind and had a warm smile. We are praying for his family.

  178. I asked Steve why he was still a Bachelor still at his age He told me because the woman he has lived since high school was never available when he was. He was waiting for them to be available to each other. Jane, his only true love

  179. The loss of Dr. Steven Huber has hit my son and I pretty hard. We met Dr. Huber in 2016 and he and my husband hit it off immediately…later they realized they had both wrestled in high school. I remember the intense conversation between my son and Dr. Huber as he outlined the relationship that he anticipated over the years to come. He told him that he would be someone he could always lean on as he moved on to high school, girlfriend issues, etc. I remember thinking that the conversation was a little extreme after all his job was to work on my son’s smile. My husband and I tag-teamed the orthodontist visits over the years so we both got to interact with Dr. Huber and we enjoyed the visits. Fast forward to two years later, in 2018 when my son loss his dad…I finally understood that initial conversation. Dr. Huber shared the loss of his own Dad with Matthew and so this unique bond developed. I will always remember his kindness, the conversations we had and how he encouraged my son during his time of grief. My thoughts and prayers are with the Huber family…and his work family. He will be missed greatly.

  180. Dr. Huber was 3 of my kids orthodontist he was great he will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayer go out to his family.

  181. Condolences to Tom and Bill and to the rest of the family. Extending our thoughts and prayers. Sam and Debbie Schaumann (MoARNG Retired)

  182. My daughter got braces years ago when she was about 9yrs old. She is now 22yrs old. She thought it was so awesome that he never wore socks.

  183. Dr. Huber not only made my sons teeth look great, he always made my son and I feel like he truly cared. He would always make your visit personal. He would ask about school and even ask the parents about their work. He had a great memory for client details. Just a very nice man. His family is in our prayers.

  184. My sincere sympathy to the whole Huber family. Steven took care of 3 of my kids & always had a smile & encouragement for them. I worked with Thomas at the MO National Guard. The amount of lives that Steven has touched through the years is incredible. May your family be surrounded in God’s strength and peace. May your hearts be filled with happy memories and all the love & care that Steven shared with others.

  185. Dr. Huber was my son’s orthodontist over the past year. Bryce had a unique case where he has no permanent two front bottom teeth and was fit for invisalign. From the very first meeting, Dr. Huber made us feel like we were the only people in his office. He was never rushed and always had stories to tell whether it be about life, sports, family, travel etc. To the point that his staff might have to interrupt us to keep him on track with his day. He was very proud of his kids and I remember him telling me the story of having the bronze statues that were in his courtyard made of them. Dr. Huber’s smile, laughter, professionalism, wit, intellect and love of his work will be greatly missed. He was the rare kind of person that always made your day a little brighter after leaving his office. Our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family, friends, other patients, and staff. RIP Dr. Huber. Julie Nabors and Bryce Turner

  186. Dr Huber put 4 of my 5 kids in braces and every time I look at their beautiful smiles I think about him and the caring attitude he had towards both his patients and parents. He’ll be greatly missed. Sincere condolence and virtual hugs to his entire family and staff.

  187. .y daughter Amandawas one of many of his patients ,she was in her early teens and I would always ask if he could wire her mouth so she couldn’t talk back lol,he would always laugh and say he gets that request from parents of teen agers alot.

  189. This really brings tears to my eyes. I got to know Steve when doing boat cover work for him. He was always kind and caring and would treat me like we had known each other for years. It was always a pleasure to see him. The world has lost a really fine man. So sad.

Our thoughts and prayers are with both his family and a his very supportive and caring work family ߙϰߏ» Dr. Hueber and your team always made each family feel special and cared for. Thank you for always making our girls and countless others feel beautiful ߦ· RIP and God Bless!!!

  196. So much I could say, but everyone who knew Steve already knows what a super person he is. My own words being feeble, I quote these from The Untetheref Soul- Michael Singer: “Imagine an angel comes down and tells you, “Straighten up your affairs. You will not awake from your sleep tonight. You’re coming to me.” Then you’d know that every person you see that day, you’d be seeing for the last time. How would you feel…interact with them? Would you even bother with the like grudges and complaints you’ve been carrying around? How much love could you give to the ones you love, knowing it would be the last time you’d get to be with them? Think about what life would be like if you lived like that every moment with everyone. It doesn’t matter what age you are; at any time you could take a breath and there may never be another. It happens all the time— to babies, to teenagers, to people in mid-life— not just the aged. One breath and they’re gone. No one knows when their time will be. That’s not how it works.” “Death is a great teacher. But who lives with that level of awareness?” Steve did! I miss the access I had with you, Steve, but you are always with me, my friend, my brother, my most valued orthodontic colleague— always.

  197. I would like to send my condolences to the Steve Huber family. Especially to my brothers Tom and Bill I pray that the Lord consoles you in your time of sorrow. Know your Brothers feel your pain. HHF, Steve Johannesmeyer

  198. I am so very sorry to hear this sad news. Dr. Huber was so caring and knowledgeable (about EVERYthing) that I always enjoyed talking with him when we were there for my daughter’s appointments. While always professional, his office had such a warm, friendly feel, that it couldn’t help but put patients at ease. He really cared about his patients and their families and I couldn’t have trusted anyone more in his professional abilities. My heart goes out to his family and wonderful staff.

  199. Jayne, Whitney, Sydney, and Max, may the Lord give your family peace and comfort to bear all this pain. He will always stay with us in our memories. Please accept our deepest condolences on the loss of your husband and father. He was truly an amazing man! Craig, Ann, Addison, Davis, and Lucianna Linhardt

  200. I worked on Steve’s Fountain Powerboat back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. He was a great customer and always enjoyed talking to him. I pray God will Bless the family with comfort. Bret Powell of the old OMS.

  201. Jayne & the entire Huber family: Please accept our deepest heartfelt sympathy for Steve’s passing. May he rest in God’s loving arms forever. May the good Lord be with his family & many friends as they will think of him often. Semper Fidelis.

  202. My thoughts and prayers go out to the friends, co-workers and family of Steven Huber, as they respond to his tragic passing. As you come together to mourn his loss, may you also reminisce and share the rich and meaningful life he led, and be comforted by the wonderful memories that he leaves behind. My sincere condolences to Steve’s family, his friends, co-workers, and brothers, Tom, & Bill, my long-time fraternity brothers from college. Cedric Hughes

  203. I would like to give my sincerest apologies to family and friends of Dr. Huber. My name is Tiffany Stephens and I was a patient of Dr. Huber back in the 90’s, for about 5 years. As a child, not always did I like going to my appointments and was sometimes really scared. But Dr. Huber always had the biggest grin, the most upbeat attitude and could make anybody feel comfortable, no matter what was going to be done. Our community has suffered a huge loss of such a wonderful person and blessing in disguise.

  204. I was a patient of Dr. Huber’s when I was 12, and I’ve never forgotten him. I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet him. He was so kind, and the most genuine person. I remember he was always wearing loafers – with no socks! He has made so many people smile – not only because he was a master orthodontist, but because he radiated joy. To his family – please know I am praying for you all! Sending lots of love and hugs in spirit. -Cinasee Pollett

  205. Phi Delt Brothers are remembering Steve and mourning his loss. Steve was a fun guy! He liked the girls and the girls liked him! In coelo quies est, Tomo

  206. My heartfelt sympathy and continued prayers to Jayne and kids, extended family and friends of Steve. My daughter was a patient of his in her early teens. He ALWAYS wore a smile, had a great attitude, took his time and no matter how busy took time to ask about our family. I pray that over time these many memories will provide some comfort of a wonderful guy who touched many lives.

  207. Summer of 2000 was when Dr Huber told me I had 3 years in braces (I was 24). October 27, 2001 I got marriedߒž. Prior to my wedding date I begged and begged Doc to yank those suckers off. To his better judgment he said… I got something better in mind for you, I’m going to build u a tooth and stick it in ur gap that way you’ll still have a beautiful smile. Doc spent over 2 hours building that tooth to meet his perfection and my expectations. It was a hit!! No1 ever noticed. Doc wasn’t just an orthodontist, he was also ur friend ߒž And for that I will be forever great full for. Many HUGS to all especially the family. RIP Doc

  208. I didn’t know Steve but had the privilege of working with his brother Jim many times. My condolences to all the Huber family at this time.

  209. Dr. Huber was our son’s orthodontist and helped him through six years of straightening and aligning. We loved our appointments because Dr. Huber and staff were always caring and competent. We miss him already. Our hearts are grieving for his family and staff. May God give all of you peace.

  210. We all will miss our wonderful friend but the great memories of Steve will be with us forever. As a Phi Delt with Steve at Mizzou, he lit up the place with his charisma and character. He will be missed.

    In coelo quies est, JB

  211. It is because of Dr Huber that I decided to go into the dental field and become a dental hygienist. I loved getting out of school to go to my ortho appointments in grade school. Steve was so kind to me and to my parents. He was really great with kids. My condolences to his family and his dental team! ❤️ Laura Griffin RDH

  212. I was born 24 years ago with a cleft lip and pallet, which meant hundreds of doctors visits, and hours of converstaions. For the past 17 years I’ve not only gotten the opportunity to be a patient of Dr. Huber as a result of this birth defect, but the great privilege of becoming a friend. He had the amazing gift of never making you feel like a patient, a file, or another problem to be fixed, but he treated you like a friend or a part of his family. Every time I went in there we would discuss school, life, and our shared interest of guns and recreational shooting. After quite a few surgeries, I have fair cause to not be too fond of doctors, but I always enjoyed going to see Dr. Huber (and not just for the free ice cream). He was a true blessing to me and my parents and has done so much to improve the lives of anyone he could. My prayers and the prayers of my parents are with his family during this already trying time. I will greatly miss him and he will be greatly missed.

  213. I am so sorry for our world. A light went out when we lost Dr Huber. He was so compassionate and caring. My grandkids loved him and so did we. He truly cared.

  214. We are so sad to hear Dr. Huber passed. I’d like to thank him for giving me and my brother beautiful smiles. We were patients of his in the 1990s. He always made my family feel so comfortable. He will be truly missed.

  215. Dr. Huber exuded passion, joy, and genuine kindness into every single action and word which came from him. He was unique and quirky and never wore socks, no matter what time of year. This, I secretly admired of him, because it exaggerated his uniqueness to me. I have been a patient of his on and off for more than 10 years. He saw me through that awkward stage and always made me feel like a rock star any time I was in his office. Speaking of his office, it was bubbly and fun and loud in all the best ways. He treated his staff like family and made every feel comfortable and open. Spending school days going to the orthodontist was a treat in my eyes, not because I missed school, but because his office was a little wonderpark of excitement and chaos. Recently, I had a visit with him in January where he worked on me personally, which typically never happened, but nontheless, he lit up my world once again. His heart was so big for people he had never met and I know for a fact I felt it in everything he did. What an honor to know this man. At the age of 25 I was able to look back and see his positive impact on my life and how important it was and still is to me. He had so much love and encouragement for my life journey; he sounded like he was along for every part of it. A light has not gone out, it has been spread and eventually, I hope out of all of this, that his bright light lives on to brighten others’ lives as well.

  216. Dr. Huber always knew how to put a grin on my face; in two different ways. His work made me confident enough to show my teeth, and his humor never failed to make those teeth shine in a big bright smile.

  217. Our heartfelt sympathy and prayers for comfort are sent to the Huber family. May memories of Dr. Huber bring you peace.

  218. Shocked to hear about Steve. My families heart goes our to his family. We were on the same team in Dental School. I knew him well and enjoyed knowing him. He will be missed. Michael S Hollingsworth DDS and Family

  220. He fixed my smile! I feel soo bad for his family. He always had such an upbeat personality and you could tell he genuinely loved kids. I enjoyed his presence despite the pain he caused me with the braces. Even when he pulled 4 of my teeth he still found a way to bring a smile to my face. He will be missed greatly! Thanks for giving me the smile I have now and most of all for your warm personality!

  221. I’m so very sad to hear about Dr. Huber. He put me in braces and made my teeth beautiful! Loved my appointments just to talk to him about everyday things and business. Sending prayers to his family! Gone way too soon! Marty Tomljenovic

  222. I am so very sorry to learn of Steve’s passing. I first met Steve at an Ormco Insider’s meeting in La Costa, CA maybe 20+ years ago. My wife and I fell in love with his infectious smile and zest for living! He made everyone around him feel better. Heaven gained a one-of-a-kind joyful soul. May he rest in God’s eternal peace, and may his family be sustained and comforted in the days ahead. We are so very sorry for your loss. Tom and Cindy Stark

  223. Jayne, Sydney, Max, Whitney, and family, We are heartbroken for your family. Steve was an amazing person who loved his career, his patients, and his family. He had a smile for everyone and truly cared about each individual he met. Each visit in the office, he always asked about everyone in our family, school, grades, interests, trips, the lake, etc., and we finally got around to teeth. 🙂 Brittany enjoyed being able to shadow him several years ago. The community will not be the same without him, and his warm, energetic personality will be missed. There are many, many smiles (three of ours included) that are the result of his amazing skills as an orthodontist. He cared about each person as a whole, not just their smile. You all have been in our constant prayers for weeks. May the Lord wrap his loving arms around each one of you and bring you comfort in this difficult time and in the days ahead. Love, the Patrick family Stephanie, Jeff, Brittany & Bailey

  243. Many prayers for Dr. Huber’s family and his office family. What a top notch group of people! My daughter has a Dr. Huber smile. Our best memory was one day after coming home from an apt she was complaining of her mouth hurting. I would up taking her back to the office. The hygienist couldn’t find anything wrong. I was embarrassed because I thought perhaps she was dramatizing things. Dr Huber came over to take a look and he said I’m going to believe my little patient. He did find something wrong. What compassion and kindness he showed. I hope these little stories bring comfort to his family because he helped so many people. Cindy Jordan

  244. Jayne and family, Our hearts are breaking for you. Please know that you and your family are in our prayers and in our thoughts. Whenever my son went to his appointments, Dr Huber would make him feel like he was his one and only patient. He treated me the same, even though the office was filled with many others. Dr. Huber was truly the face and meaning of “gone too soon.” I sincerely believe that his job on this earth was to provide positive energy and beautiful smiles. That combination is what is needed to light up the world during some of the darkest days. 266. Dr. Huber was my first and most important mentor to me. He took me seriously when I was 13 when I asked to work for him. As soon as I was able, he took me into his office and helped me learn in his lab. I was able to work for Dr. Huber and learn from his team. He would take me to lunch in the middle of his busiest days and give me advice about life, business and practice. I am now a dentist and the same age as Dr. Huber was when he first met me as a patient. He inspired me to always see the best in our youth and to offer mentorship whenever possible. He showed me how to lead a team and manage work with fun. Dr. Huber touched so many lives in ways beyond giving them a smile to be proud of. He will be forever cherished and his kind and loving ways will live on in all of us that he coached and mentored over the years. God Bless this wonderful man and may God look over his family.

  267. Bill and Tom Huber, My deepest sympathy during this time. Please know that I am thinking of you. Your Friend, Jackie Loveall, MOARNG

  268. We cannot find the words to convey our sadness about the loss of Dr. Huber. Our sincerest and deepest condolences go out to his friends and family. Dr. Huber was changing the world…one smile at a time. ~The Ganey Family (David, Gina, Addison and Haley)

  269. Dr. Huber had such a spark of life and vitality. My heart goes out to his wonderful family, whom he spoke of often. And to the wonderful people at the orthodontic clinic. As one of his adult patients, I loved chatting with Dr. Huber about every topic under the sun. He was interested in everything and just loved life. At my last appointment, he said, “If I could go back in time and start over, I think I’d do it all over again just the same way”. 100% Dr. Huber… I will miss him very much.

  270. I am just now finding out about the passing of Dr. Huber and cannot hold back my tears. I am in my 50’s and started going to Dr. Huber in my 30’s. During my last annual appointment (June 2019) we talked about the Bible. He stated that he needed to find the time to read/study it more due to his busy schedule. I suggested that he at least try to read 1 page in the Bible a day, as that is what I did. He told me that he would take on my suggestion. That’s the last time we talked. May you Rest In Peace Dr. Huber! Praying for his immediate family and office family. God Bless! ߙϰߏ½

  271. Steve was a man filled with unending energy and a zest for life. He was a person with a very discerning, creative eye. He had a talent and passion for architecture, art and interior design. Steve was one of the best orthodontist, making beautiful smiles all over mid Missouri. Steve and Jayne created a wonderful home for Whitney, Sydney and Max. One could see and feel the love of this special family unit. My heart goes out to the family at this time of loss. I will personally miss the quick wit and good conversations. The Huber family has lost its patriarch, but Jayne will keep the family ties strong. I will miss you greatly Steve! Frank B

  272. Jayne and family, Tom, Bill, and Jim.. I’m so very sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. Such great memories of MU, Kansas City, and after. He was such a great and unique man, one of a kind. I hope as time passes your multitude of great memories will ease the pain of him being gone.

  273. You will be an inspiration. I am in the heart of COVID in New York. I just want to thank you for being an inspiration to what is the long lost art of dentistry. Please be a guardian angel to the youth.
