Barbara Marie “Bobbie” Nilges, 82, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

She was born March 23, 1937, in Freeburg, Missouri, the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Bock) Nilges.

Bobbie operated an in-home children’s day care and worked as a receptionist for the Missouri State Vocational Rehabilitation.

She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph and enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary (Richard) Hoffman, Freeburg; Georgia DeBroeck, Mansfield, TX; 19 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and great nephews; three sisters-in-law, Esther Nilges, Jefferson City; Rita Nilges, Jefferson City; Nancy Nilges, Freeburg; and her companion, Bill Cunningham of Macon, and his children.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy (John) Iven; three brothers, Victor Nilges, Bernard Nilges, and William Nilges; one brother-in-law, Tom DeBroeck; one niece; and one nephew.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Jefferson City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Jefferson City with the Rev. Louis M. Nelen officiating.

Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Freeburg.

Memorials are suggested to Holy Family Catholic School or to Masses.
