Rita Anna Forck, 90, of Taos, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born December 11, 1927, in Taos, Missouri, the daughter of the late John J. and Mary G. (Schnieders) Taube.

Rita received her GED from Blair Oaks High School in 1976.

She was united in marriage on April 23, 1949, in Taos, to Julius Bernard Forck who preceded her in death on March 17, 2015.

Rita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker, worked for Tweedie Shoe Factory, a bookkeeper for her husband’s business Julius Forck Bricklaying, a co-owner of Forck Cleaning Services, and a cook at Blair Oaks High School. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos, St. Ann’s Sodality, Prayer Line, and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.

Rita enjoyed embroidery, upholstery repair, playing pinochle and dominos, and watching hummingbirds.

Survivors include eight children: Fred Forck, Jefferson City; Stephen (Mary Jane) Forck, Taos; Isadore "Izzy" (Deborah) Forck, Taos; Christopher (Margaret) Forck, Taos; Leona (Troy) Duren, Taos; Melinda (Tim) Fennessey, Wardsville; Harold (Rhonda) Forck, Taos; Kevin Forck, Jefferson City; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Taube, Jefferson City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Shannon Forck; 5 sisters, Barbara Rackers, Agatha Rustemeyer, Theresa Wolken, Mary Riegel, Helen Berhorst; six brothers, August, Otto, Liberatus, Joseph, Anthony, and Leo Taube; one half-sister, Kate Verslues; and one half-brother, Frank Taube.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2018, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos with the Rev. Michael W. Penn officiating.

Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
