Gerry Alan Stone, 66, of Warrensburg, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born January 20, 1952, in Moberly, Missouri, the son of the late James Franklin and Kathleen Judith (Keesee) Stone. Gerry served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. He worked for many years as a cook at various restaurants. Gerry enjoyed his friendships he made with fellow veterans at the Veterans Home in Warrensburg, playing online games with his brother David, watching movies, going to the casino boat, and visits and phone calls from family. Survivors include two siblings, Mary Ann Reid, Jefferson City and her son Joshua Reid; David (Lea Ann) Stone, Warrensburg and their offspring Deanna (Dustin) Smith, William (Brandi) Stone, Jenny Stone (Steve Wyatt), and Deborah Stone (Kyle Martin) all of Warrensburg. David also has an additional son, David Thompson of Mound City, Kansas. Gerry also had nine great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James Stone; and his brother-in-law, Bryan Reid. Private family services will be held at a later time.
