Betty Lou Cockrum, 70, of Jefferson City, passed away surrounded by her children, Monday, November 6, 2017, at her residence. She was born January 12, 1947, in Marshfield, Missouri, the daughter of the late Goldie Pearl (Miller) Hutchins. She was united in marriage on September 21, 1968, in Seymour, Missouri, to Dannie Ray Cockrum who preceded her in death on October 21, 1987. Betty worked at Johnson Controls and in earlier years for Scholastic, Inc. She enjoyed gardening, doing puzzles, shopping, playing cards, and games. She loved all dogs and watching NASCAR, but especially spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Aimee (Jamie) Wieberg, Linn; Kellie (Daryl) Terry, Mokane; a son, Dannie (Gricelda) Cockrum, Jr.; six grandchildren, Arik Cockrum, Jenna Wieberg, Courtney Wieberg, Ainsley Cockrum, Devon Terry, and Michael Cockrum; one sister, Shirley Henderson, Fairplay; and two brothers, William Hutchins, Springfield; and Robert Hutchins, Fordland. She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, and two brothers, Donald Hutchins and Harold Hutchins. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Jefferson City Animal Shelter, 2308 Hyde Park Rd., Jefferson City, MO 65109 or to a charity of the donors choice.
