JoAnne Marie Bauer

joanne bauer
JoAnne Marie Bauer, of Wardsville, passed away in her home Wednesday, October 28, 2015, surrounded by her loved ones. She battled determinedly with her cancer diagnosis and passed peacefully this week. Born August 14, 1955, JoAnne attended Fatima High School where she met Henry, her high school sweetheart. They were married in Freeburg, MO on September 10, 1977. JoAnne worked as a cosmetologist for 40 years, most recently at Hair Connections. Many of her clients were also her friends. Her smile welcomed you to her chair where her willing ear and supportive advice could always be found. JoAnne and Henry raised 3 children, Elizabeth (John Jr.) Sheehan, Adam (Amber) Bauer and Hannah Bauer. JoAnne's love for her children was evident in her energy and dedication to their happiness. She never missed an opportunity to volunteer as a room mother for their school holiday parties, bake them their favorite dessert for their birthdays, and give them guidance when they strayed a little too far from the path. JoAnne loved whole heartedly. She loved her family and friends deeply and cared for them with unmatched affection and attention. JoAnne lived vivaciously. Her energy and laughter were contagious whether she was running marathons, riding her bike, gardening, working as a hairstylist, or volunteering in the community. JoAnne was a centerpiece of her large family. She is survived by her spouse Henry and children as well as her siblings Shirley Besche, Joe (Mary) Besche, Theresa Besche, Debbie Besche, Dr. Barbara (James) Howard, Carolyn Brandow, Jennifer Howard, Lori (Kurt) Reichert. She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Redel and Aloysious Besche, Jr. and her brother Lonnie Besche. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in WESTPHALIA, with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2015, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville, with the Rev. I.C. Medina officiating. Memorials are suggested to St. Stanislaus Catholic School, 6410 Route W, Jefferson City, MO 65101-9702 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
