She was born in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Kroeger) Eggen. Irma graduated from St. Peter High School in 1953 and was united in marriage on May 5, 1956 to Alfred Hugo Schmitz, who survives at their home. She loved to bake and cook in her kitchen, and enjoyed sharing her cookies and sweet rolls. She loved spending time with family and friends, playing cards, and time at the Lake. 3. Dear Alfred and Family,

You have our sympathy in the death of your wife and mother. Irma was very special and dear to us and we will miss her so much. I especially enjoyed talking and visiting with her. Such a beautiful lady both inside and out. She will be missed by all who knew her, but the greatness of this all is that we will one day meet again, over in Gloryland! We will keep you in our prayers during this difficult time.
