Margaret Jane Hoey, 86. of Jefferson City, died Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Adams Street Place. She was born October 13, 1928, in Mulberry, Kansas, the daughter of the late John Dennis and Agnes Mary (King) Ryder. She was a 1946 graduate of Clinton High School and attended St. Mary College. She was united in marriage on August 21, 1948, in Clinton, Mo to Jack Woltzen Hoey who survives at the home. Jane worked for over 16 years for the Thomas Jefferson Regional Library as an assistant librarian. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Ann's Sodality, Western Catholic Union, and AARP. Jane was an avid historian and enjoyed politics. Other survivors include: three children, Jay "Mike" (Mary Beth) Hoey, Jefferson City; Ann (Barry) Backer, Lohman; John (Nancy) Hoey, Jefferson City; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 12 noon Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Msgr. David D. Cox officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be 11 a.m. till 12 noon Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Special Learning Center, 1115 Fairgrounds Road, Jefferson City, Mo 65109. I can see that she imparted her faith, which is a parent’s first duty, but now I also understand one of the sources of your passion for history and politics.
