Della Mae Shortal, 85, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Oak Tree Villas.
She was born on July 9, 1929, in Jersey County, Illinois, the daughter of the late Herman Hartcourt and Grace Edith (Drulard) Blackorby.
She was united in marriage on April 15, 1950, in Jerseyville, Il., to James Theodore Shortal who precede her in death on March 6, 2012.
Della was employed with Mutual Saving and Loan as a teller and with Check Office Equipment as a secretary.
Survivors include: one son, John Shortal, Jefferson City; five granddaughters, Amanda Shortal, Lindsey Shortal, Anna Shortal, Beth Shortal, Crystal Shortal; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; her son, Alan Shortal; and six brothers, Cleo, Harold, Louis, Herman Jr., Sloke, and Bert Blackorby.
Private family service will be held at a later date.
Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
