Clarence William Bruemmer, 93, of Jefferson City, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at Adams Street Place.
He was born on January 31, 1921, in Cole County, the son of the late Anton Bernard and Helen Marie (Schnieders) Bruemmer.
Clarence was a 1939 graduate of St. Peter High School.
Following high school, Clarence joined the United States Army with the 86th Division and served during World War II in Europe and the Philippines.
After his honorable discharge from the military, Clarence married Mildred Rose Rackers on September 1, 1947, in Wardsville who preceded him in death on June 5, 1986. Clarence later married Lorraine Elizabeth Bernskoetter Eveler on May 23, 1987, in Jefferson City who still survives.
Clarence worked for Jefferson City Distributors as a mechanic, estimator, and sales representative until his retirement in 1995.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Holy Name Society where he was a past president, and was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1054.
In addition to his wife Lorraine, he is survived by seven children, Barbara Bruemmer, Jefferson City; Sue (Ted) Sullivan, Kansas City; Mary Beth (Michael) Hoey, Jefferson City; Roberta (Dennis) Licklider, Holts Summit; Janel (Bob) Luck, Jefferson City; Robert (Debbie) Eveler, Jefferson City; Kevin (Renee) Eveler, Centertown; a daughter-in-law, Debbi Bruemmer, Moberly; 21 grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Bruns, Jefferson City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred; two sons, Michael Bruemmer and Douglas Allan Eveler; and a grandson, Ben Sullivan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. David D. Cox officiating.
Entombment with military honors will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m.
