Alverna Anna Buechter, 85, of Jefferson City, died Friday, March 07, 2014, at St. Joseph Bluffs surrounded by her family. She was born November 7, 1928, in St. Elizabeth, the daughter of the late John and Mathilda (Lindenbusch) Rehagen. She was united in marriage on June 7, 1947, in St. Anthony to Herman Fred Buechter, Jr. who preceded her in death on July 9, 1970. A homemaker all her life, Mrs. Buechter also worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue for 20 years. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality. Alverna loved the St. Louis Cardinals; from watching games on the television, to sharing stats about players with her grandchildren at baseball games, Alverna was a true St. Louis Cardinal. Alverna also enjoyed listening to country music and tending to her garden and yard. Survivors include: four children, Vic (Cheryl) Buechter; Millie (Gary) Schell; Barb (Larry) Lehmen; Betty (Jim) Jaegers, all of Jefferson City; a son-in-law, Tom Borgmeyer, Jefferson City; thirteen grandchildren, Kristan (Jamie) Morris; Craig Buechter; Curt (Heather) Buechter; Mark (Jill) Schell; Julie (Chip) Malmstrom; Jeff Lehmen; Jill (Mike) Dal Pozzo; Steven (Salma) Jaegers; Kevin (Kristianne) Jaegers; Lisa (Oscar) Juma; Lori Jaegers; John (Anne) Borgmeyer; Janet Kiburz; 14 great-grandchildren with two more due; four siblings, Arnold (Julie Ann) Rehagen; Jim (Carolyn) Rehagen; Dave (Mary) Rehagen, all of Jefferson City; Berniece Schulte, St. Anthony; and two in-laws, Rosemary Rehagen, Holts Summit; and Marie Wieberg, St. Anthony. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman; a daughter, Martha Borgmeyer; three brothers, Leonard Rehagen, Norbert Rehagen, John Edward Rehagen; and a brother-in-law, Harry Schulte. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church, 216 Broadway Street, Jefferson City, Mo 65101.
