Donald Paul Redel, 59, of Wardsville, died Thursday, December 5, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. He was born on February 24, 1954, in St. Louis, the son of Paul George and Rosie Elizabeth (Fechtel) Redel. Don worked for Jefferson City Manufacturing for 34 years. He currently was working for PureFlow Technologies in Jefferson City as a machinist. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, and any activities involving guns. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed watching sports, especially football. Don spent great times at the river with his friends. Don will be remembered for telling good stories that could make anyone smile. Survivors include: two children, Allison (Tim) Boggs, Wardsville; Lance Redel, Wardsville; his mother, Rosie Redel, Jefferson City; two brothers, Bob (Kathie) Redel, Jefferson City; Gerry Redel (Sylvia King), South Lyon, Mich.; and his girlfriend, Lisa Birdsong, Wardsville. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Redel; and a brother, William Redel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2013, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville, with the Rev. I.C. Medina officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
