James Delbert Thomas, 75, of Jefferson City, died Friday, July 5, 2013, at St. Mary's Health Center.
He was born on May 6, 1938, in Ashland, Missouri, the son of the late James Frank and Reba Fern (Nichols) Thomas.
He was united in marriage on October 8, 1961, in Jefferson City, to Linda Elaine Butler who survives at the home.
Mr. Thomas worked in the maintenance department with the Missouri Department of Transportation for 32 years. He was a former member of Solid Rock Family Church.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Melinda (James) Matteson, Jefferson City; Reba Hodge, Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Danny Matteson and Tommy Matteson; one sister, Goldie Holder, Fulton; a brother-in-law, Billy Brandenburg, Warrensburg; and his beloved dog, Susie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marilyn Brandenburg and Mona Shoults; and three brothers, Robert Thomas, Elvy Thomas, and Jesse Thomas.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
