I am so sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers go out to your family. I knew Mark in college. He was a wonderful and kind person. He will be missed by many.
I was deeply saddened when a friend told me that Mark had passed away. I served with Mark in the Sunrise Optimist Club for many years and found him to be a warm and caring young man. I deeply regret that I did not know of Mark’s death in time to come to the visitation or funeral. He was a very special man.
Dear Family, May you rest in knowing that Mark is with his Father now and will no longer suffer. A friend of Mark’s passed this on via Facebook. My mom and dad were from the area so it feels like family (even though we never met.) If Mark was a friend to Doug then that says a lot about Mark. He must have been a great human being! God bless, Lori

One of the most pleasant and likeable human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure to know and work with. My heart goes out to Mark’s family as well as his coworkers. He will also be missed but never forgotten by all of us in the Ag. Industry in Missouri.
Debbie, Nathan and Logan:

Mark was simply great at the important things in life. We will miss him dearly.
I am so sorry for your family’s loss Debbie. I am thinking about you and praying for comfort for your family.
Debbie, I thought a great deal of Mark, what a great guy. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your kids.
I met Mark two year ago when he called to see whether I
would be interested in collaborating with him and some faculty members from other universities in the region and entrepreneurs to write a proposal regarding biomass/bioenergy production and research. Later he invited me to
serve on the steering committee of the AgBioWorks. He was a very kind and helpful person and he always encouraged me to never lose faith and to actively participate in different projects. I am shocked and saddened by the news of his passing and pray that God almighty give his family and friends strength at this very difficult time.

Debbie, Glenna and I send our most sincere condolences on your great loss. And on behalf of the members of the Optimist Club of Jefferson City let me express our collective condolences on the loss of our brother Optimist from the Sunrise Optimist Club.
I am so sad about the loss of such a nice person. Mark was great to work with and always greeted everyone with a smile. He loved to talk about his family and was so proud of all of them. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
The world is not as good a place without Mark in it. I will miss him immensely. He was a constant in many lives that can’t be replaced, mine included. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Debbie.
I plan on coming back for the services, Debbie. I look forward to seeing you and the rest of the family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family in Jefferson City and his family here in southeast Missouri.
Mark, was a great person who was nice and truthful about everything. It was a honor to have him as a fraternity brother! My prayers are with him and his family. Stan Irwin
Mark was always in a great mood. I enjoyed working with Mark through MDA and having the two of you enjoy the winemaking and wine tasting events. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Debbie.
Mark was a such a good person and he always made time to offer his assistance. We first met when he invited me to join him for a meeting with the Mexican Consul General (I was at that time working for DED on the Latin American team). He was a collaborator and team player. Almost seven years ago I left Missouri for an opportunity in California but Mark continued to offer guidance as it pertained to agricultural exports. I considered Mark a friend and a mentor. I am very sorry to see him leave before his time. His family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Debbie and Logan and Nathan during this most difficult time. Mark was my pledge son in Pi Kappa Alpha and although he may have learned a few things from me, I can say I learned a lot more from him. I always looked forward to getting together with him through the years. He was a special person – faithful, solid and genuine and all with a great sense of humor… I will miss him!
Debbie, I was saddened to read of your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to you, Logan and Nathan. I know he will be greatly missed by many.
It seems way too soon to be saying this but Mark showed us what a life well lived is all about. He always set a good example for his classmates, teammates, fraternity brothers, and his more recent colleagues I am sure. My love goes out to Deb, Nathan, Logan, as well as the rest of his great family. We had a lot of fun and laughed often. I will say it is one of fondest memories and pleasures to have laughed with Mark.
I am so sad to learn of Mark’s death. He helped me so much at the University when I was Alumni Director. I always knew if we needed something done at Jeff, all I had to do was call Mark. I counted him as a real friend and I treasure his memory.
Mark Hitt was a real gentleman, true professional, dedicated family man, and a man of strong faith. I will miss working with him, particularly his eternal optimism and his genuine interest in wanting to help people accomplish their goals. Mark told me a few weeks ago that his life was in God’s hands, I know that his family is comforted by that fact.
Debby, Nathan and Logan, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Mark, he was a great person. Always a smile on his face. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. Logan and Nathan
Dear Debbie, Nathan and Logan, I wish to extend to you my deepest thoughts of sympathy, prayers, and love during this time in which we grieve the loss yet celebrate the life of your husband and father, Mark. You were incredibly blessed with a wonderful man who demonstrated in his kindness, humility, and generosity as a loving husband and devoted father an example that all of us should strive to imitate each day in the way we show care to others. As his cousin, I feel very thankful to God for having known Mark in my life. Our conversations and playing Scabble were priceless. However, having a final moment to read to him from sacred scripture, sharing words of hope in Jesus’ salvation, and giving him my blessing last week was a treasured gift from God. Most importantly, and without a doubt, this man was devoted to God, his faith and his family. Although his lige was relatively short, he had all of his priorities in line, and now God is rewarding him for his faithfulness – eternal life in heaven. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. And made the soul of Mark and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
Debbie,Nathan and Logan. I send my deepest sympathy to you and family. I know these times are not easy. Myself and son, Ian still remembers Mark taking him fishing as a young boy. I do believe they did catch some fish. My condolence, prayers and thoughts to all the family.
I have lost a true friend and has so many others. I am so sorry for the loss to Debbie, Nathan, Logan and the rest of Marks family. Such is the void we feel in our hearts. My prayers are with you all.

I pray that you find comfort in knowing you will be reunited with Mark in heaven one day. “A faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time.” Titus 1:2 Your family will be in my prayers. Debbie, I so wanted to be there for the visitation and funeral but the weather cancelled the flights. Know that you and your family – and Mark – will be in our prayers. Mark was a prince of a fellow and I was honored to be counted among his friends. They just don’t come any better than Mark Hitt – he was good to the core. He will be missed, but Heaven is a brighter place today.

Dear Hitt Family,
I had the honor of interacting with Mark on projects conducted on behalf of cotton growers of southeast Missouri. The first time I met Mark I was so impressed with his knowledge, character and his Faith. These characteristics just beam from such a wonderful man. We have lost the service of a great ambassador of agriculture worldwide, but heaven has gained a greater warrior for the Kingdom that awaits all believers. I only wish I had time to know him better. To me he was a very special individual who was grounded in all the good that this life has to offer.
Long live the Legacy and the Impact that Mark Allen Hitt left with all who had the honor of knowing him.
May the Lord bless and comfort his family and friends and may we strive to be more like him. I loved his Spirit. Just being in his presence gave you a good feeling.
Sincerely, Stephen Lee, Bayer CropScience.
