Guestbook

  1. I was sad to hear of the passing of John and his brother Linus. I knew them from the VA activities at the Elk’s Lodge. They were both dedicated men and fine examples of the Greatest Generation.

  2. John was such an honorable man. He was the most caring and thoughtful individual I have known along with my own father, Bill Burton. The two were best of friends and confidantes for over 50 years and made many trips together over the years in support of the veterans. They also somehow squeezed in some gambling time. “John always won” as my Dad would recollect. They will now join forces together again in Heaven. John will sorely be missed. God Bless Him!!!!

  3. John was a great man. John was a great citizen. John was a great patriot. He will be missed at VFW Post 1003 and atDAV Chapter 17. Our condolences to the family. Chaplain/Reverend Wheeler

  4. We will miss John very much. He was the best! Kevin & Annette Cook and Cheryl Anderson, Elks Lodge 513

  5. To John’s family, I have known John for about 10 years. I became a dediated volunteer at the VA becuase of John’s influence. Watching him work with the Veterans and bringing so much joy to their hospitalized lives, really helped me to get to know John and his dedication to the Veterans of Harry Truman Memorial Veterans hospital. We also cokked together and spent time visiting about Veterans and the Elks Lodge. John gave of himself continuously and I will always cherish our times together.

  6. John was a great guy. Did more for veterans than anyone I knew. Will sure miss seeing him at Jefferson City Elks Lodge.

  7. John you were the greatest guy I have ever known. You gave so much and took little in return. R.I.P. My Elk Brother JR West And Family
