Holly Michele (Prenger) Kiesling, 37, of Jefferson City returned to the warmth and comfort of God on Sunday, September 02, 2012. She fought cancer for 5 years until God heard her cries and extended His arm to return her home. She had been surrounded by her family during her last days, and at the time of her passing, she was with her loving husband and her mother.
Holly was born July 3, 1975 in Jefferson City, the daughter of Susan D (Holtmeyer) Gilbert and Gary L Prenger both of Jefferson City. She was united in marriage to John Kiesling, on February 18, 2005 who survives at the home.
Holly was a 1993 graduate of Jefferson City High School. She was employed at a local grocery store for many years until the beginning of her fight with cancer. She was also employed with The Secretary of State and Scholastic Inc. until she was unable to work.
Holly had a firm belief in God. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was passionate about others and enjoyed life. She loved to dance and always had a big beautiful smile. She loved her dog, Roxy, who was a good companion for her through her illness, and Kitty, her adopted cat.
Survivors include: one son Brenten James Carlock, age 15, of Jefferson City; two daughters, Abigail Christina, age 12 and Alyson Katrina, age 8, of the home; her parents, Susan Darlene and Carl Gilbert, and Gary and Melanie Prenger; brothers, Shannon Lee Prenger, Clinton Michael Prenger and Jonathan Alan Gilbert all of Jefferson City, Jason Gilbert (wife Anne) and children Bradley, Heather and Laycee of Wardsville; sisters, Julie Lynn Prenger Bruno (husband Randy) and children Landon and Raegan of Woodlawn, Tennessee, Angela Gilbert (Justin Sullens) and children Justin Jr., Jazzmine and Kylie Sullens of Jefferson City, Shelby Hilgert and children Zachary Eickhoff, Carleigh Gilbert and Joshua Hilgert of Jefferson City; grandparents, Cyrilla Prenger, Marie Holtmeyer and Mary Ann Gilbert; numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Holly was preceded in death by her grandfathers Joseph Holtmeyer, Sr. and Carl Prenger.
A prayer service will be at 6:00 pm Wednesday, September 5 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martins, Mo.
A Catholic Mass celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 6, at St. Martin Catholic Church with Father Ed Schmidt, officiating.
Funeral services and interment will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, September 8 at Moniteau Evangelical Advent Church and Cemetery, 59349 Moniteau Church Road, Jamestown (Moniteau County) Mo. 65046. The Reverend Brian Bish will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to American Cancer Society (Research of Brain Cancer), Hollys children, or familys choice of charity.
