Kristi Kay Ferguson, 55, of Jefferson City, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on December 5, 1956, in Villisca, Iowa, the daughter of Russell Albert and Fern Lucile Hultquist Brown. Her mother survives in Corning, Iowa.
She was a 1975 graduate of Corning High School, a 1977 graduate of Ellsworth Community College with an Associates Degree, and a 1981 graduate of Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelors Degree in Education.
Kristi was united in marriage on July 29, 1995, in California, Mo., to Robert Lee Ferguson who survives at the home.
Kristi was a first grade teacher with Jamestown Elementary School for 20 years, and Eugene Elementary School for 10 years.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Missouri State Teachers Association, and the Eagles Lady Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Eric (Jill) Ferguson, Columbia; one grandson, Max Ferguson; five siblings, Dick (Sandy) Brown, Wall Lake, Ia; Bob (Elinor) Brown, Villisca, Ia; Ron Brown, Villisca, Ia; Linda (Tom) Kleiman, Kewaunee, Wisc.; Vicky (Jake) Tugel, Carlisle, Ia; her loving nieces and nephews; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Marie Ferguson, Centertown; one brother-in-law, Gary (Terri) Ferguson, Jefferson City; and two sisters-in-law, Michelle (Jon) Dougherty, Centertown; and Lynn (Dave) Young, Fulton.
She was preceded in death by her father; a sister-in-law, Joan Brown; a nephew, Aaron Brown; her maternal grandparents, John and Mabel Hultquist; her paternal grandparents, Albert and Daisy Brown; and several aunts and uncles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis W. Doyle, officiating.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m.
