Mildred Frieda Kiesling, 87, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 13, 1924, in St. Martins, the daughter of the late Otto and Hilda Hackman Knernschield.
She was a 1942 graduate of St. Peters High School.
She was united in marriage on June 29, 1948, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City, to Herbert Clemence Bud Kiesling who survives.
A homemaker all her life, Mildred worked for several years with St. Marys Health Center in the business office.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality. She was also active with the 4-H.
Mildred loved to spend time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, bowling, dancing, and playing cards.
Survivors include: six children, David (Linda) Kiesling, Jefferson City; Carol (Craig) Mize, Jefferson City; Larry (Margie) Kiesling, Jefferson City; Joyce (Clifford) Lepper, Eugene; Judy (Donald) Basinger, Jefferson City, Mo; Kathy (Byard) Ross, Blue Springs; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild expected in July; three siblings, LaVerne Grothoff, Jefferson City; Rosemary Grothoff, Jefferson City; Francis Knernschield, Kansas City, Ks.; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Antweiler.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Antweiler.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. J. David Maher and the Rev. Donald J. Antweiler concelebrating.
Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
