Danny Leroy Harris

Danny Leroy Harris, 63, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
He was born May 30, 1959, in Jefferson City, the son of Raymond Otto and Ruby Lee (Bloomer) Harris.
Danny was a 1977 graduate of Jamestown High School.
He was united in marriage on July 19, 2008, at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Holts Summit to Connie Fay Roney who survives at the home.
Danny was a skilled and motivated entrepreneur throughout his career. He started Best Construction Company when he was 18 years old; worked as an agent for Prudential Life Insurance Company where he was recognized as a top national producer; owned and operated Harris Financial Services in Jefferson City; operated several storage unit facilities and rental properties in Jefferson City, Holts Summit, Fulton, and California; and enjoyed working on the family farm raising cattle.
He was a former member of New Bloomfield United Methodist Church and Wesley United Methodist Church. Danny enjoyed woodworking, going to auctions, collecting various items, loved spoiling his grandchildren, and was always busy thinking about the next project he wanted to start. Many times, the friendships that Danny created would become family. Even though he worked hard his entire life, family was most important to Danny.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Harris, Jefferson City; two children, Zach Harris, Russellville; Lindsey (Andy) Harris-Funk, Jefferson City; five grandchildren, Jackson Yazawa, Eva Harris, Marshall Funk, Oliver Funk, Stella Funk; and a half-sister, Pamela Champlain, Holts Summit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a half-brother, Jack Harris.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Trimble Funeral Homes. Burial will follow at California City Cemetery in California, Missouri.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Connie, always enjoyed your visits to St. Louis when you and Danny would stop by for business and pleasure and seems like it always ended in “let’s do dinner!” Even though you may have arrived by 10:00 AM to Noon.
