Richard Allen Howard, 87, of Vienna, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Stonebridge Westphalia.

He was born September 28, 1935, in Potosi, Missouri, the son of George Allen and Gertrude (Duncan) Howard.

Following graduation from high school, Richard served in the Missouri National Guard.

He was married in 1959 in St. Louis to Marjorie Grelle who preceded him in death in 1982.  On May 26, 1984, in Jefferson City, he married Renilda Mae Mantle who survives at the home.

Richard worked for many years as a draftsman for Central Electric.  Following retirement, Richard and Renilda traveled throughout the United States.  He also enjoyed spending time on the farm in Maries County.

Survivors include his wife, Renilda Howard, Vienna; four sons, Richard (Gail) Howard, Vienna; Joe (Myrna) Howard, Texas; Kenneth Howard, Vienna; James (Barb) Howard, Jefferson City; three stepchildren, Jim Nielsen, Maryland; Steve (Becky) Cook, St. Louis; Jennifer (Max) Lawton, Hermann; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Linda (Howie) Smith, St. Louis; Judy Zensen, St. Louis; Ruth (Bob) Shelton, St. Louis; and Dennis (Sharon) Howard, Lake St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son John, a sister, Debbie Maxey; and three brothers, Johnny Howard, Jerry Howard, and Eddie Howard.

The family will hold a celebration of Richard’s life at a future date.
