Ruthene Allen was born on August 8, 1933 in West Plains, Mo and passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023 in her home at Primrose Retirement Community in Jefferson City.

Ruthene was the fourth of nine children born to Curt and Jessie Mitchell, one brother and seven sisters.

Ruthene married Ray Allen in 1970 and was blessed with forty five years of marriage until his death in June of 2015.

Ruth and Ray loved to travel and made many trips including 8 cruises, one of which was to Hawaii, her dream vacation.  They also loved to camp and spent many weeks camped on the Jacks Fork river.  Ruthene loved dogs and especially “Buddy”, he was their baby.  Ruthene’s last “job” was babysitting Macey Mudge from birth.  She was like a granddaughter to them both.

Ruthene is survived by her children; Carolyn (Mark) Thompson of Nixa, Michael Breckle (Sherry Wells) of Jefferson City, grandchildren;  Christopher (Melinda) Johnmeyer, Kelly Rust, Josh (Jennifer) Johnmeyer, Nicole (Jason) Azdell, Adrian (Will) Harris, great grandchildren;  Alexander, Dylan (Faith), Harmony and Christian Rust, Cash and Cruz Johnmeyer, Samantha and Tucker Mullins, Megan and Rory Azdell, sisters;  Esther Kaut, Mary Henry and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Allen, her parents, one brother, five sisters and a daughter-in-law.

Friends are invited to visit with the family and share memories of Ruthene from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Trimble Funeral Homes, 3210 N. Ten Mile Dr., Jefferson City.  Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mountain View.  trimblefunerals.com

  5. Aunt Ruth was always a kind and loving person. I remember visiting her was I was a little boy and she always made me and my brothers feel at home. Mike and Carolyn were so loved and back then she loved her little dog “Tinker”. She will be missed.

  7. Great Aunt Ruth was amazing. Always had a smile and a warm hug when we got to see her at the reunions. She loved her family and would tell the best stories of the good ole days! I know the family was was waiting in heaven to greet her with a hug! We will miss Aunt Ruth!! Love you all and sorry for your loss she was amazing.

  8. Ruth and her husband, Ray, were the first neighbors I met when I moved into her old neighborhood in Troy, MO. She remained a wonderful neighbor and friend that I always felt I could talk with. A tinge of sadness is still felt when I walk past her old house with my little dog. She was a special part of our community. Ruth raised some great kids of whom she was very proud. Carolyn and Mike, I am so sorry for your loss. Macey, I’m sorry for your loss as well. Her memory lives on in all her extended family. How lucky you all are for having had her for mother, grandmother and on and on. She made everyone feel a bit like family.

  11. SOooo Many fond memories of Aunt Ruth she was always welcoming and glad to see you and just an all around easy person to sit down and have a chat with. We are sad to have missed her service but we were unaware she had passed😢 Deepest Sympathy and Love to all of you. God Bless Rest In Peace Sweet Ruth Always in out Hearts.
