Mary Catherine Dove, 87, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025, at StoneBridge Senior Living – Westphalia.

She was born on December 4, 1937, in Champaign, Illinois, the daughter of Muryl and Catherine Mary (Beland) Shambrook.

She graduated from Roberts Thawville High School in 1956.

Mary retired as an account clerk for the State of Missouri Social Services Department.  In earlier years, Mary worked as a dispatcher for a trucking company, the Missouri State Library, and Mid-Missouri Mental Health.

Mary’s greatest joy was her seven grandchildren.  She enjoyed reading, cooking and a variety of crafts. She could also find enjoyment in the simple things of life by sitting outdoors and watching people.   

Survivors include four children, Robert (Kathy) Dove, Bethlehem, Georgia; Patricia (Gregg) Sellers, Montreal, MO; Cheryl Bardwell, Westphalia; and Linda (Mark) DuBoise, Bartlett, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Theresa Davis; infant twin daughters, Darlene and Charlene Dove; and a sister, Rita Jardine.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City.  A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with John Rollins officiating.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
