Barbara Joyce Falotico, 75, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at Valley Park Retirement Center in Holts Summit.

She was born January 11, 1950, in Brookfield, Missouri, the daughter of the late Howard Paul and Louise Genevieve (Bailey) Cooper.

She was united in marriage on August 19, 1972, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Brookfield to Peter Joseph Falotico who passed away December 11, 1988.

Barbara was a teacher and Principal in the Diocese of Jefferson City including St. Andrew, St. Stanislaus, and St. Francis Xavier Schools.  She later was a Reading Recovery teacher for Missouri Public Schools in Kirksville, Missouri and retired in May of 2015 from the Jefferson City Public School.

She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Steeple Chasers, and volunteered as an eucharistic minister at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Survivors include four children, Peter (Shanell) Falotico, Wardsville; Angelina (Jason) McKenna, Ulman, MO; Regina (Ben) Kuster, Jefferson City; Lisa (Chad) Vannatta, Fort Wayne, IN; 13 grandchildren, Dustin (Kaitlyn) Kremer, Frankie Falotico, Natalie Falotico, Peter Kuster, William Kuster, Joseph Kuster, Benjamin Kuster, Salvatore McKenna, Giovanni McKenna, Sebastiano McKenna, Carina McKenna, Gianna McKenna, Veronica McKenna; and four siblings, Jim (Kathel) Cooper, Jefferson City; Bruce Cooper, Jefferson City; Jane (Michael) Ledbetter, New Bloomfield; and Mary (Terry) Walsh, Jefferson City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and an infant sister, Deborah Cooper.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen Jones, officiating.  Private family burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Taos.

Memorials are suggested to Vitae Foundation or to the Cathedral of St. Joseph Foundation.

  3. Barbara was a table leader on my Cursillo Weekend in 1997. I have fond memories of her from then and over the years being involved with Cursillo. She was a lovely lady with a beautiful smile and a matching heart. My sincere condolences to your family.
