Purisima Ybanez “Perry” Buschman, 69, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born February 26, 1956, in Manila, Philippines, the daughter of Guillermo M. Ybanez and Carmen G. Valdez Ybanez.

Perry was a high school graduate from Pasong Tamo, Quezon City, Philippines in 1974.

She was united in marriage on August 9, 1997, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City, Missouri to Jeffrey Buschman who survives at the home.

Perry worked for over 25 years in Quality Assurance for Scholastics, Inc. in Jefferson City.

Perry enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandkids.  A wonderful cook, no one left her home without getting something to eat.  She was very talented with her arts and crafts and loved to decorate.   Perry also liked bowling and was a part of a bowling league back in the 80s.  Perry will be remembered for her patience, honesty, compassion, kindness, and generosity, as well as her resilience, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility.  

Survivors include her husband, Jeff Buschman, Jefferson City; three children, Rodney Barber, Jefferson City; Kathryn (Justin) Kirsch, Jefferson City; Sheryl (Jacob) Schneider, Jefferson City; two step-children, Jerry (Laura) Buschman, South Carolina; Courtney (J.B.) Owens, South Carolina; twelve grandchildren, Blake Kirsch, Bryan Kirsch, Kinlee Perkins, Holden Barber, Eli Buschman, Danica Buschman, Jonathan Buschman, Ashley Buschman, Nicholas Buschman, Natalie Buschman, James Owens, John Owens; two great-grandchildren, Logan Buschman and Roselin Buschman; and eight siblings, Lilia Checa, Philippines; Teresita Wixom, Winfield, Iowa; Danilo Ybanez, Philippines; Arnulfa Watts, Holts Summit, MO; Reynaldo Ybanez, Philippines; Susana Wilson, Frankenstein, MO; Ma. Cecilia Reyes, Philippines; and Monica Quinzon, Philippines.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Henry Ybanez.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2025, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City.  A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki, VG officiating.

Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
