Born in: Argyle, Missouri
Resided in: Jefferson City, Missouri

Margaret Josephine Brenneke, 93, of Jefferson City, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Westbrook Terrace surrounded by her family.

She was born on February 21, 1932, in Argyle, Missouri, the daughter of August and Hilda (Eichholz) Wieberg.

Margaret graduated from Wiles School in Argyle, Missouri.

On September 5, 1950, she married Lawrence Herman Brenneke at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Argyle, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on December 25, 2014.

In earlier years, she worked at the International Shoe Factory then after having children, she worked with family at Veits Village Motel.  She later worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue for seventeen years until her retirement in 1995.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Sodality, Daughters of Isabella, Perpetual Adoration, and the quilting group.

Margaret loved her family above all else and was always the caregiver for any family member in need.  These last few years have been hard on her because she had to become cared for herself instead of her being the caregiver.  She enjoyed traveling, quilting, playing cards and spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

She is survived by three children, James (Becky) Brenneke, Jefferson City; Samuel (Terri) Brenneke, O’Fallon; and Karen (Brian) Schrimpf, Wardsville; six grandchildren, Julie (Chris) Noblett, Jenny (Brad) Crull, Kelly Albregts, Casey (Josh) Cain, Jamie Block, and Ashley (Ethan) Haslag; eleven great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence “Doc” (Jeanette) Wieberg, Beemer, Nebraska; one sister-in-law, Rosemary Wieberg, Westphalia; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, four brothers, Leonard Wieberg, Victor (Martha) Wieberg, August “Gussie” (Laura) Wieberg, and Gilbert (Corona) Wieberg; two sisters, Angela (Don) Lape, and Agnes (John) Brenneke.
