Alfred Hugo Schmitz, 94, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. John Schmitz, celebrant and priests of the Diocese of Jefferson City concelebrating.

Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Birthright of Jefferson City, or to the National Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Church in Laurie, Missouri.

A complete obituary will be posted by Wednesday.

  2. Alfred was very special to many people’s hearts. He will be missed dearly and remembered by all who knew him. I will miss our conversations sitting outside listening to country music and watching the cars go by. Alfred showed me how to slow down and cherish life. Thanks friend rest in peace and btw can you say hi to my dad and my niece for me. Until we meet again
