Loyd Ralph Libbert, 68, of Freeburg, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026, peacefully at his home.

He was born January 16, 1958, in Jefferson City, the son of Lionel and Arharta (Wieberg) Libbert.

Loyd was a 1976 graduate of St. Elizabeth High School, attended University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, and received his electrical training from the IBEW Local 257.

On October 21, 1978, in Meta, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Dina Ann Dudenhoeffer who survives at the home.

As a member of IBEW Local 257, Loyd worked as an electrician for Meyer Electric and Jefferies Electric.  He also tended to his farms around Freeburg and in Meta.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Freeburg.  In his earlier years, Loyd served as Mayor of Freeburg.  While farming, Loyd enjoyed riding on his John Deere tractors and working cattle.  He also enjoyed 4-wheeling, woodworking, and family camping weekends.

Survivors include his wife, Dina Libbert, Freeburg, MO; four children, Ryan (Erica) Libbert, Freeburg, MO; Heather (Neil) Phipps, Fenton, MO; Melissa (Jesse) Bexten, Ashland, MO; Megan Bauer, Freeburg, MO; 12 grandchildren: Thomas, Maya, Toby Libbert; Kylie, Carter, Brayden Phipps; Isaiah, Noah, Alex, Molly, Jonah Bexten; and Abigail Bauer; two siblings, Betty Jean (Curt) Kemna, St. Elizabeth, MO; Terry (Pam) Libbert, Meta, MO; and two sisters in-law, Delores Libbert, Meta, MO; and Norma Jean Libbert, Meta, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Anton Libbert and Harold Libbert; and two young sisters, Bonnie Libbert and Sandy Libbert.

Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg with a rosary recited at 4:30 p.m.  Additional visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Dylan Schrader officiating.  Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Holy Family Catholic School Building Fund.
