Paul James Meyer

Paul J. Meyer, 92, of Jefferson City passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Heisinger Bluffs.
He was born July 5, 1933 in Jefferson City to the late Elmer and Catherine (Eveler) Meyer. Paul was a 1951 graduate of St. Peter High School and went on to attend Jefferson City Junior College. In 1953, Paul was drafted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge in 1955, Paul enrolled at the University of Missouri graduating in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. On June 22nd of that year, Paul married Frances Eggen at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. They moved to Columbus, Ohio with Paul working for Westinghouse Electric. In 1972, Paul and Frances returned to Jefferson City where he was an accountant and financial analyst with Westinghouse until retiring in 1991.
A member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Paul was active in the Holy Name Society and took part in Adoration at church. He joined the Knights of Columbus Council 1054, Dan Coppin Assembly in 1966 serving in various offices while attaining 4th Degree. Active in scouting, Paul served as committee chairman of Boy Scout Troop 4 and as committee member of Explorer Scouts. He served as treasurer of the Westinghouse Industrial Club and Helias School Board. Paul also found time to volunteer at the election polls, Samaritan Center and St. Mary’s Hospital as a Volunteer Ambassador.
Survivors include five children; Greg (Marie) Meyer of O’Fallon, Dan (Marianne) Meyer of Columbia, Jacklyn (Jerry) Griffen of Ashland, Rick (Kathleen) Meyer of Overland Park, KS and Steve (Miriam) Meyer of Eureka, IL; eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Jane Meyer of Jefferson City. Paul was further preceded in death by his wife, Frances and brother, Ken Meyer.
Visitation will be at Trimble Funeral Homes-Jefferson City on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 3:30 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church, Jefferson City. Reverend John J. Schmitz will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Peter Catholic Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
