James Frank Meyer

James Frank Meyer, 85, of Holts Summit, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026, at Adams Street Place.

He was born April 1, 1940, in Pender, Nebraska, the son of William Edward and Lillian (Holm) Meyer.

James was a graduate of Bancroft High School in Bancroft, Nebraska.

He was married on October 8, 1960, to Joy Jeanette Jessip who preceded him in death on May 18, 2003.  He was later married on July 5, 2004, in Jefferson City to Lois Bernice Perry who preceded him in death on July 31, 2024.

James spent his career as an electrician.  During his career he helped to build the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Holts Summit where he attended church and the Bible Baptist Church in Jefferson City.  He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and leather work.

Survivors include his sons, Frank Meyer, Roger Meyer, James Meyer; two stepchildren, Laura Burris and Stanley Burris; and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jaworski; and three brothers, Wayne, Glen, and William “Woody” Meyer.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2026, at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Holts Summit.  A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Daniel Bishop and Pastor Nolan Wynn officiating.

Burial will be held at Versailles City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
