Chris Galeener
April 19, 1948 ~ February 28, 2026
Marion “Chris” Galeener, 77, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born April 19, 1948, in El Dorado, Illinois, the son of the late Glen and Winnifred (Hammond) Galeener.
Chris served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. In 2017, he was honored to travel with the Central Missouri Honor Flight.
On June 15, 2017, he was united in marriage to Kay Olson who survives at the home.
For over 47 years, Chris worked as an outside salesman for Bearing Headquarters Company retiring in 2014. Chris enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and other sports, playing golf, and spending time with photography. Above all else, Chris loved to be with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Galeener, Jefferson City; his daughter, Kara (Jeff) Simon, Jefferson City; two step-children, Kimberly (Thomas) Jackson, Summerville, SC; David (Justinn) Olson, Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren, Kamryn Simon, Maryn Simon, Alyssa Simon, Zach Simon; three step-grandchildren, Angela Jackson, Kayleigh Jackson, Conner Jackson; and a brother, Bill (Buelah) Galeener, Fayetteville, NC.
Visitation will be 4-5 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2026, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City. A prayer service will follow at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen Jones officiating. Military honors will be rendered after the service.
Memorials are suggested to benefit the educational needs of his granddaughters, Kamryn and Maryn, in care of Kara Simon.
