William Robert Schnieders

William (Bill) Robert Schnieders, 96, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, Missouri.

He was born on September 16, 1929, in Cole County, the son of Peter Joseph and Clara Catherine (Adrian) Schnieders.

Bill served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War, spending his service years stationed in Germany. He carried that same sense of duty and commitment throughout his life.

A remarkably hard working man, Bill devoted himself to every role he held. He worked at the Adrian Rock Quarry, the Callaway Nuclear Power Plant, in various construction jobs, and dedicated many years to farming—a vocation that matched his steady nature and love of the outdoors. His strong work ethic and quiet determination left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Bill was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, where he humbly volunteered in the Adoration Chapel. He enjoyed farming, mushroom hunting, and bowling in his earlier years, taking joy in simple pleasures and time spent on the land he loved.

Above all, Bill will be deeply missed—especially by his children and grandchildren, who will forever carry with them the lessons he taught, the example he set, and the warmth of his steadfast presence.

Survivors include two children, Pete (Janel) Schnieders, Jefferson City; and Denise (Jim) Convery, Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Shane Convery, Darius (Shannon) Schnieders, Shelby Convery, and Mariel Schnieders; two sisters, Betty (Harry) Stauffer, Jefferson City; and Pat Neuner, Jefferson City; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Schnieders, Jefferson City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Paul (Mildred) Schnieders, Clifford (Marge) Schnieders, and Fred Schnieders; two sisters, Dorothy (Bill) Burkett and Ruth Ann (Denny) Higgins; and a brother-in-law, A.J. Neuner.

Visitation will be from 9:30–11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dennis Meyer, MS officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Helias Foundation or to the Missouri Veterans Home–Mexico Assistance League.
