Vincent Leroy Laux

Vincent Leroy Laux, 79, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Adams Street Senior Living, surrounded by family.  Vince leaves behind a lifetime of family, friendship and memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.

He was born August 26, 1946, in Jefferson City, the son of Victor and Celeste (Hentges) Laux.  Vince was a 1964 graduate of Helias High School.  In September of 1968, he was married to Jo Ann Brown. 

Vince dedicated 45 years of his life to working as a mechanic for Riley Chevrolet. He was a hardworking and dependable man who was always willing to lend a hand. He had a special way of helping others.  If he came upon a broken-down vehicle, he would stop to see if he could help get them back on the road. His generosity and willingness to help others were a reflection of the kind of person he was.

Outside of work, Vince enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved spending Sundays watching NASCAR, camping, and riding dirt bikes along the Piney River. Some of his happiest memories were made outdoors, enjoying good times and good company with the people he cared about.

Survivors include his daughters, Wendy Laux, Jefferson City; Michelle (Bill) Evans, Lake St. Louis; one grandson, Cole Evans; siblings, Joe Laux, Jefferson City; Mary (Duke) Dorge, Osage Beach; a sister-in-law, Fran Laux, Jefferson City; Jo Ann Laux, who remained a dear friend and caregiver to Vince and close friends: Jolene Cornelius, John and Debbie Schellman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul, Johnny, and Jimmy Laux, sister in laws: Debbie Laux, Linda Laux and Mary Laux.

The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to the caregivers who went above and beyond in caring for Vince.  Their kindness, compassion, patience and dedication brought comfort and support during his final days. Their care and thoughtfulness will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2026, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Deacon John Schwartze officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family asks that donations be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
