Mary Ann Langston

Mary Ann Langston, 76, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, August 24, 2026, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born September 14, 1949, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Robert A. and Joyce N. (Felty) Hall.
She was united in marriage on July 28, 1972, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Paul D. Langston who survives.
Following her graduation from Blue Mountain College in Mississippi, Mary began her professional career as a teacher, a role she held for three years. She then answered a call to nursing, earning her credentials as a registered nurse and specializing in neonatal care. For much of her nursing career, she served in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. John’s (now Mercy) Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, caring for newborns and their families.
Mary was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Jefferson City, where she shared her love of music as a choir member. Music was one of her lifelong passions. In addition to singing in the church choir, she was a former member of Jefferson City Cantorum, performed with a local handbell ensemble, and frequently played the piano for residents of nursing homes throughout mid-Missouri.
Mary gave her time as a volunteer with Common Ground and as a proofreader for the Wolfner Braille Library. An avid reader, especially of mystery novels, she also enjoyed traveling, solving puzzles, and playing games. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Langston, Jefferson City; two sons, Chris (Michelle) Langston, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Peter (Stephanie Garcia) Langston, Jefferson City; six grandchildren, Kyle Langston, Emily Langston, John Langston, Allie Langston, Jessie Langston, Lucas Garcia; and three siblings, Patricia Hall, Joy Johnson, and Andy Hall, all of Arkansas.
Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2026, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Trevor Dancer, Rev. Stephen Buchholz, and Rev. Kyrell Newell officiating. Entombment will be held at the Riverview Cemetery Columbarium.
