Agnes Henrietta Newman, 88, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Jefferson City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on September 13, 1923, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Gerhard Henry and Adeline Marie Toebben Bemboom.
She was married on June 25, 1941, in Jefferson City to Raymond Jewel Newman who preceded her in death on March 6, 1995.
A 1940 graduate of Immaculate Conception School, Mrs. Newman retired in 1985 from Safeway Food Store where she had been employed for twenty-five years. She later served with the Missouri Department of Revenue for seven years.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality.
Survivors include four children, Richard (Martha) Newman, Jefferson City; Patricia Newman, Jefferson City; Raymond (Lisa) Newman, Gainesville, Florida; and Dennis Newman and his fiance, Melissa Seeligman, Jefferson City; six grandchildren, Angela (Phillip) Love, Pueblo, Colo.; Nathan Newman, Linn, Mo.; Mitchell Newman, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Morgan Newman and Lauren Newman, Gainesville, Fla.; and John Paul Newman, New York State; three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, and Hanna Love; one brother, Harry (Hilda) Bemboom, Jefferson City; and two sisters, Bernardina Warner, San Diego, Calif.; and Loretta (Clifford) Siebeneck, Wardsville, Mo.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Lisa Ray Newman; two sisters, Louise Burnett and Frieda Sosnowski; and three brothers, Anthony, Paul, and Edward Bemboom.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Basil Eruo officiating.
Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donors choice.
