Alberto Lambayan, 79, of Osage Bend, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018, at SSM Health St. Marys Hospital.
He was born March 16, 1939, in Puunene Maui, Hawaii, the son of the late Juan and Hilaria (Saragina) Lambayan.
Alberto served his country in the United States Navy.
He was united in marriage on February 27, 1965, at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend to Judith Ann Cassmeyer.
Alberto graduated from Linn Technical College then worked with North Electric Company. He joined ABB as an electrician and after 27 years, retired in 1999.
He was a member of St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend for the past 43 years.
Alberto had a lifelong passion for billiards which included practice, competition and hand-crafting custom pool cues. He was affectionately known by many as Pineapple. Alberto also enjoyed sketching and painting.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Lambayan, Osage Bend; two daughters, Marjorie (Mark) Grothaus, Liberty; Victoria Lambayan (Brendan McVetty), San Fransico, CA; three grandchildren, Alexander Grothaus, Chloe Grothaus, Xavier McVetty; three siblings, Guillermo (Antonia) Lambayan, Hilo, HI; Flordelisa Juario, Lahina, HI; Juanita (Jeff) Highsmith, Somerdale, NJ; and six in-laws, Mary Rose Dickey, Osage Bend; Shirley (Robert) Koelling, Osage Bend; Henry (Pauline) Cassmeyer, Springfield; Rebecca Cassmeyer, Osage Bend; James Cassmeyer, Anaheim, CA; and Elizabeth Cassmeyer (Elvin Martinez), St Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Soledad Canaynay, Felicidad Dozier; two brothers, Joaquin Lambayan, Maximo Lambayan; and three in-laws, John Cassmeyer, Virginia Cassmeyer, and Victor Cassmeyer.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik officiating.
Burial will be in St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church or to Dr. Shadi Haddadin & Staff Relay for Life Team.
