Audrey Claire (Nordness) Halvorson, 90, of Jefferson City, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at her home.

She was born on February 13, 1935, in Portage, Wisconsin, the daughter of Emory and Dorothy (Hildebrand) Nordness.

She was a graduate of Luther College, with a bachelor’s degree in music education.

Audrey married Eugene Halvorson on June 1, 1957, in Viroqua, Wisconsin.

She worked as a music teacher until she had children, volunteered through church and community.

Audrey was a member of Faith Lutheran Church; sang in the choir, played bells, and was a Sunday school teacher.

She liked playing bridge, working at Braille Bible creation, going to estate sales, and traveling to visit grandkids.

Survivors include her children, Andrea (Greg) Beck, Jefferson City, Kari (Darin) Beesley, Overland Park, KS, Alf (Shari) Halvorson, Houston, TX; grandchildren, Lauren (Woody) VanDervort, Matthew (Ellie) Halvorson, Jennifer Hawkins, Kristen (Brett) Johnson, Allison (Drew) Johnson Beesley; great grandchildren, James VanDervort, Ezra Hawkins and Amos Halvorson.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City with Pastor Alf Halvorson and Pastor Rich Steensma

Memorials are suggested to Faith Lutheran Church.

    It was a blessing to have been able to be with her shortly before she went to Heaven. I’ll miss you Audrey❤️

  2. May her memory be a blessing. We spent many summers in Minnesota with my aunt Audrey and all the cousins, and I have very fond memories of her and those days.
