Together they raised a family of 6 children, operated a small family farm, owned and managed several rental properties, and were very active in their catholic faith as members of St. Peter Catholic Church and St. Martin Catholic Church.

As a homemaker, Betty managed a large garden, canned fruits and vegetables, was a fantastic cook, loved to sew crafts and handmade quilts, and provided a loving home for her family. She is remembered for giving her grandchildren their first bath, marking birthdays with a card and a small gift of money, and attending all of the important events like birthday parties, first communions, school activities, etc. She also loved to travel (visiting all 50 states and several countries), camp, and spend time with family, friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Betty is survived by three sons, Michael (Mary) Steck, Daniel (Rosie) Steck, Harold (Cheryl) Steck; two daughters, Lois (Kenny) Schulte, Linda (Kevin) Welch; a daughter-in-law, Irasema Steck; 11 grandchildren, Matt (Erin), Mark (Lisa), Travis (Gesse), Kevin, Jesse (Melissa), Jason (Elizabeth) Angela (Mike), Kyle (Mary), Shelby (Amos), Jacob (Mychael), Rachel; and 20 great grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her son Timothy, and her grandson, Michael Stotler.

Guestbook

  1. Mrs. Betty was a true joy and i treasure all the times we spent swimming together, hanging out and having fun. She was a joy and i learned lots of things from her. I wish i would have met her sooner. We loved lots of the same things.

  3. I will cherish the memories of the times spent exercising in the pool. Betty and I would laugh ourselves silly when I would pick her up to take her to swim. She was a precious lady who will be greatly missed. I, too, wish I had met her sooner.

  4. Betty was a silent saint who loved our Blessed Mother Mary and many a rosary was offered by her. May she now join Leo and all the saints of heaven. Prayers for the family.

  5. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. We are so sorry for the sadness you must be feeling with the loss of both of your Parents/Grandparents so close together.

    They are back together now reaping their rewards for a life well lived; May they rest in peace;

    Treasure all the happy memories!!
