Celestine Elizabeth Sally Bure, 85, of Westphalia died Saturday, July 21, 2012, in Westphalia.
She was born April 7, 1927, in Westphalia, the daughter of the late Henry Martin and Mary Elizabeth (Schwartz) Bock.
She was united in marriage on August 22, 1959, in Westphalia, to Joseph George Bure who preceded her in death on September 5, 1991.
A homemaker for 53 years, Sally also had worked for Tweedie Shoe Factory in Jefferson City.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia where she led the Rosary; and was a member of the Ladies Sodality and 50 Plus Club. Sally helped cook for church picnics, funeral luncheons, weddings, and other various functions for many years. She also helped to drive people to doctors appointments and was known for her angel food cakes.
Survivors include: five children, Theresa (Ken) Schaefer, Lohman; Linda (Brad) Harris, Jefferson City; Mary (Dan) Knaebel, Westphalia; Doris (Scott) Jenkins, Eugene; John (Laura) Bure, Sharpsburg, Ga.; fourteen grandchildren, Meghan Schaefer, Matthew Schaefer, Mason Schaefer, Weston Harris, Julie Harris, Adam Knaebel, Emily Knaebel, Jacob Knaebel, Gregory Jenkins, Erica Jenkins, Evan Jenkins, Halle Jenkins, Christina Bure, Cassandra Bure; and two siblings, Raymond Bock, Westphalia; and Jean (Wilfred) Kempker, Westphalia.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Alphonse Bock and Tony Bock.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia, with the Rev. Mark S. Smith, officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m.
