Christy Janelle McHugh, 53, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born March 1, 1964, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Thomas James and Nancy Janette (Moreland) Munk. She was a 1982 graduate of Jefferson City High School. She was united in marriage in November of 1983 at Cedar City Baptist Church to Kirk Thomas McHugh who survives. Christy spent most of her life as a homemaker raising her two daughters, Kiley and Courtney. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed scrapbooking, traveling to Florida every year, and loved to be around her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Kirk McHugh, Jefferson City; two daughters, Kiley Hartzler and her husband Michael, Jefferson City; Courtney McHugh, Jefferson City; five grandchildren, Grace Hartzler, Brody Hartzler, Blake Hartzler, Devin Hartzler, Shelby Hartzler; one brother, Michael Munk and his wife Kim, Jefferson City; father-in-law, Walt McHugh, Jefferson City; a brother-in-law, Wally McHugh, Jefferson City; and two sisters-in-law, Gretchen Veltrop and her husband Steve, Jefferson City; and Tracey McHugh, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Sarah Nicole McHugh. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Pastor Lowell Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to Dr. Tamara Hopkins Patient Assistance Fund, 1704 Christy Court, Suite 500, Jefferson City, MO 65101. She always freely opened her/your home to the homeschooled students for academic and social events. She will be greatly missed.   11. We are grieved and saddened to hear of Christy’s passing. She was a kind, generous, sweet woman. So many of our homeschooling memories include her and the girls. We are praying for God’s comfort for the family during the coming days.

  12. Its hard to say goodbye. But the battle is over. She is in God’s hands now. No more pain, no more medicines, no more feeling ill. Only the comforts of Heaven. She will be missed .
