  1. Lera and family: Sincere condolences for the loss of your dear mother. May you find solace knowing she is wrapped in the arms of the Lord. God Bless you all!

  2. Pat and family, So sorry to hear of your loss, but God’s gain. Billy and Clarice were always very welcoming to me…what made JC such a great place to grow up in…all of the wonderful parents who were involved in the churches/schools/Boy and Girl Scouts/ etc./etc.. I was glad I was able to visit with her in 2016 in her apt.–what a view of the Mighty MO River! I will always remember my mom relating to me that Clarice had called her for recommendations on how many pairs of underwear she should pack for Pat, for our upcoming multi-week Boy Scout bus tour of the West. I will always remember the great times with Clarice and Billy with Troop 1 Boy Scouts–Pat always said that my daddy was just a teller and I always said that his daddy was just an inker at the JC News Tribune. Laughter was always welcome at their home. And, now I know where Lera’s name was derived from!

  3. Dear Ms. Shemwell, Thank you for all the welcoming greetings and chats at Heisingers. You certainly were a bright spot during each visit. It’s a pleasure to be friends with your wonderful children; a joy to share stories about how very smart they are. Thanks for all the smiles.

  4. The entire Shemwell family is in our prayers. Your mom demonstrated her love for God and her family in so many ways. She was a role model for living her faith. We are blessed to have known her.

  5. My sympathies to Lera and family. You Mom was always smiling and friendly every time we saw her at church. She was so spunky when we saw her recently. She will be missed.

  6. Lera, So sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I have thought of you often hoping all has been well with you. No matter how ill or old our parents are we are never prepared for their loss. Prayers and deepest sympathy for you and your family. May God Bless you and the Memories you hold of your mother.

  7. I was blessed to have some wonderful conversations with Clarice. She was married and doing her own thing when I was little and with the family. We got to know each other rather late in life, but I treasure the good conversations with her and the love we had for each other. I’m going to miss those, but know my dear cousin is happily Home.

  8. Lera, I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She was quite the lady. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. So glad I met you and your mom and will miss running into you or her at Heisingers when I visit my mom. Hugs to you !

  9. Lera, We were so sorry to read about the passing of your mom. She was such a dear lady. I worked with her on the Senior Nutrition Council Board for many years. Just wanted you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless you and your family. June & Harry Lauf
