Dale Hagenhoff, 50, of Columbia passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at his home.

He was born January 28, 1971 in Rolla to the late William and Catherine (Tappel) Hagenhoff. Dale grew up in Rolla and graduated from Rolla Senior High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Dale continued his service as a member of the Missouri Army National Guard where he retired after 22 years of military service. He also had been employed at the Harry S. Truman Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Columbia.

In his earlier years, Dale had been a member of the American Legion Post 5. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and camping when the kids were younger. Dale was known as a “jack of all trades” and could always come up with a way to fix just about anything.

Survivors include three daughters, Kayleigh (Clayton) McCowen of Arnold, Sierra (Clayton) Johnson of Jefferson City, Kelsey Hagenhoff of Jefferson City, his grandson, Theodore Johnson, life-long friend and former wife of 23 years, Malinda Hagenhoff of Jefferson City, two sisters, Rose (Charles) Brown of Rolla, Beverly Hagenhoff of Columbia, six brothers, Steven (Rita) of Fair Grove, Jerome (Sandy) of Centertown, William (Lori) of Chamois, Richard (Sherrie) of Springfield, Elmer of Amarillo, TX and Marvin (Liz) of St. James and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenneth.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 20, 2022 from Noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, 3210 N. Ten Mile Dr., Jefferson City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Reverend Don Fankhauser will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery with full military honors. The service will be live streamed for those who wish to watch from home. The link can be found on Dale's obituary page under tribute wall at www.dulletrimble.com.

The general public is welcome to attend services while following social distancing guidelines and wearing facial coverings.

  1. Dale was one of the best men I’ve ever known. We only dated for about 2 months before he died but it was a great 2 months. I will never forget that mischievous grin he would get on his face, it was a wonder to see. I love you Dale and I miss you so much, I will never forget you!   2. Dale is my Son-in-law. From the time he married My daughter Malinda and she flew off to Germany to be with him I found trust in him . She was the first of my Babies to leave the nest. He did me proud Him and Malinda Blessed me With Kayleigh, Sierra, and Kelsey. Theo and a sissy in may. Not to forget Kayleigh and Sierra, Husbands. Dale and I were friends . He was and always will be In my memories and in my heart. I don’t know why but the song “the dance” comes to mind from back in the days when all seem right.   4. Dale was an example of what a good person should be.He was kind and cared deeply for his family. He was very proud of his daughters and he would get a twinkle in his eyes when talked about them. He was always there to lend a hand and was a genuine friend. Dale was always polite and sincere. His kindness was real and he had a big heart. I will truly miss you.
