David Hugh Leon Jinson, 73, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born January 4, 1944, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Kenneth Estil and Edna Elizabeth (Hays) Jinson. He was united in marriage on July 17, 1979, in Miami Oklahoma to Joann Branson, who resides at the home. They were sealed on June 28, 1995 at the Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. David was a case worker with the State of Missouri, Department of Corrections for eighteen years, retiring April 1, 2000. In addition, he farmed in Miller County and was a commercial fisherman. Previously, he worked for the Jefferson City Fire Department. He made his own hoop nets for his fishing hobby as well as selling them to other fisherman. He enjoyed teaching other people how to fish and make their nets. Other survivors include three sons, Tracy Lee (his fianc, Lynda) Harris, Jefferson City; Wade Allen (Amanda) Harris, Carlton, Oregon; and David Fredrick (Janice) Roark, Jefferson City; two daughters, Lisa Ann Caldwell and Heather Marie Kampeter, both of Jefferson City; two brothers, Leroy (Bonnie) Jinson, St. George, Utah; and Donald Jinson, Jefferson City; one sister, Dorothy Harland, Shelbina, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and his father-in-law, Clarence E. Branson, Holts Summit. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Jerry Jinson, Bill Baker, Estil Jinson, and Kenneth Baker; one sister, Betty Stevens; and his mother-in-law, Martha Ousley. Graveside services will be held Monday, August 14, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Longview Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
