The real heroes of the story of Doug’s life are his parents Joann and Donnie that chose him and only him as their only son and the center of their life. Great parents have children that thrive and children that struggle. Doug lived everyday knowing that he was the center of his parents’ world and loved unconditionally. Some people go through life from birth to death and never feel this type of love. Joann and Donnie are heroes to Doug and hero’s to me as I am raising kids that thrive and kids that struggle. Their example of unwavering faith and support of their son inspire me as a person and mother. May Doug Smith rest in peace. Love to your family. Susie Roling Menifee
